Definitely do not remove the .exe scan feature imo.

Open Excel and go to tools/macros/security and set it to low. I wouldn't recommend this if you open excel files sent to you by people you don't know well. If you lower the settings, you can always right click the file when you download it and choose scan with Norton to be on the safe side.
