RR, I'm not going to re-hash the Vietnam War or all the reasons we choose to take our own path when confronted with the prospect of going half way around the world to die in some rice patty.

As far as making stuff up is concerned; I didn't. He got a transfer and he got an early out. I questioned the reasoning behind both. I would not question BTW the rationale behind your early out, as by 1973 the war was effectively over; and you were in the service.
