BB52... I sent this as a PM to sarals by mistake earlier today. It was a public reply: sarals... The Texas ANG flew F-102's. The Alabama ANG flew something different and they weren't about to spend the time and money to retrain Bush. He was near the end of his obligation. They were even phasing out F-102's from ANG units around the country at that time and that's why the Texas ANG commander let him go to Alabama. Texas didn't want to spend the money to retrain him either. And if he was really AWOL he was well known enough that the MP's would have had no problem finding him. He would have spent time in jail(brig) and been dishonorably discharged. None of which happened.IMO. If you don't like his politics argue that, don't make stuff up.
I entered the Navy in 1968 for six years and applied for an early out to go back to college in 1973. It was granted with no question. My family has no political influence believe me. The media as usual is taking this in the wrong direction. IMO
