You may very well be right. Though when I provided the information, they verify the information by comparing it to State Licensing boards and other databases/information you provide. "Trust, but verify"....is a good motto.....I actually had my wife (a nurse) attempt to log on with her license information and Sermo would not accept it...

Truthfully, any forum board that is hooked to wall street (outside funding) and now may be linked to a Pharma (in that the Pharma may get to review the posts), I agree with you, in my opinion, that these issues may put the whole process into question or at least spin bias on the process.....
this is why I think many MDs that are on the site may, in my opinion, back away....we will see....

I think the whole concept is smarmy irrespective of the bona fides of anybody's credentials.

Genuine (unrewarded) networking between physicians for information exchange = good.

Incentivized gossip for avaricious hedge fund managers = smarmy
