Can anyone offer a meaningful opinion as to what the tradeoffs are? For example, if you sign it then XXXXXX will probably happen, if not then YYYYYY will probably happen.
It's obvious it's not mandatory, but in situations such as this, something that is *not* manadatory sometimes causes more confusion as to what is best than something that is.
