For the patient, it’s critical to get right. A 3rd party hospital apheresis unit probably handles many different types of procedures (stem cell, leukemia, blood donation). Having a dedicated apheresis machine with exact settings, makes sense as a quality control matter and to ensure outside factors (hospital, scarcity) do not become bottlenecks.
