I've read about that. You'd have to be an idiot to pay for the insurance as liability on autonomous vehicles shifts to the company providing the autonomous technology. Thus paying even half current rates is too much. You'd likely still want some property damage related insurance for cases like theft and weather. Maybe a homeowners policy of the future could include that as a rider or something?
