I'm not weighing in on what is best for NW shareholders. My POV is first and foremost to understand what is actually possible. And I would much rather underestimate and be thrilled with a massive windfall, than to wax way too long. Much of the talk of how much NW will be worth in what timeframe seems mostly insanely overoptimistic at least in regard to the timeframe it takes to move into commercial success especially for a company that has no money. If nothing else, longs ought to have learned that "won't take that much longer" thinking has been a source of nothing but disappointment for the last 5 years. I don't see that the timeframes for all the successes that we all hope for have suddenly shrunk, that suddenly everything is completely different.
A buyout would be a chance to get an immediate payoff. I don't know how big the payoff might be but to me every $ today is worth more than it would be 2-3-5 years from now, partly because I'm 70 years old and not getting younger. It seems so easy for longs to dream all kinds of great things happening in months rather than the years things take with trials and RA approvals in the real world. I would just ask you where you've been for the last 5 years and whether you have learned nothing if you have been long since 2000.
I know, it's just a waste of time to try to argue with dreamers. We'll see what we see.
