My fridge, washer/dryer and stove are all smart units. I'm not.

I have no idea what they do in smart mode, so I made them as dumb as I am.
I had a tech disable the feature on all of them when they were installed.

The only feature I saw was useful was on the stove.
I could remotely turn it on or be advised by an alert that the probe says the tofuturkey is done.
Big whoop.

I just see these as a another back door to the access of my internet.

It's connected to the internet for some reason and I think one of the features is that it can alert you if you leave the door open.

Presumably it could also open the door itself, to let in the burglar disguised as a refrigerator repairman.

Edit: Decided to see what they actually do and, from my standpoint, absolutely nothing that I need or want:

So you feel your kitchen experience is sufficiently elevated without a smart fridge?
