$QS - "Progress has been made particularly in the area of battery development: the cell types used to date have been further optimized, resulting in a reduction in battery weight of 8.2 kg. Despite this reduction, the weight of the machine remains a decisive disadvantage compared to conventional racing motorcycles."
"To solve this problem, Ducati is cooperating with several partners within the Volkswagen Group, including Audi, PowerCo, and battery specialist QuantumScape. The goal: battery packs with significantly higher energy density to reduce weight and improve range and power output.
The V21L prototype presented at the IAA is Ducati’s first motorcycle equipped with solid-state batteries. These are considered a promising technology for the future, as they are potentially lighter and safer, and enable faster charging and higher capacities. The current state of development represents an early but important step – however, there is no talk of series production yet."
