Lots of generalizations and unnecessary “personal” criticisms from him. Why would he think the “mob” (I am assuming he is referring to generalists…not unlike himself IMO…has any influence on polymer success or failure anyway?!). This guy seems overly concerned mainly about trying to cover his own ass.
Mark doesn't like Polymers, but he respects Yves and most likely Blum. I've never met the guy but I think that he refers to us as "the mob". I can not understand why anyone in the industry would want to reveal what they are considering to a journalist whose job it is to leak it to everyone. Obviosly he did not like Lebby, I don't know of his relationship with Blum.
X. He is posting on father's day so that may tell us where his bread is buttered. He may have been told to get out and dis polymers to try and affect the industries "public" perception. He does use a lot of what I call eraser words in his writings.
Exactly what I was telling you guys two years ago. This clearly does not jive with the often proclaimed “tier ones are chopping at the bit to work with Lightwave” narrative. I’m sorry to see that’s still where things seem to be.
There just is not much discussion about polymers in any meaningful way in the optics industry for datacom use from the perspective of transceiver suppliers, all the way up to the largest users, including as the hyperscalers
