AI and where we are headed.
The idiom "you can't see the forest for the trees" means that someone is so focused on the details of a situation that they are unable to see the larger picture or overall context. They are so wrapped up in the individual parts that they miss the whole.

AI are the trees.
The forest is society controlled by the many versions of AI created.
But there will be a battle between all those AI trying to inflict their version of what society should be.
Today each AI is created by the programming of humans, not yet a functioning intelligent where it has self awareness to determine if the human that created it was sound of mind. History has shown that force and power has been the main driver for human development (control) rather than logic and correctness.
Which "tree" will win the battle and strike down all the other "trees."
Answer: The one having the most force and power and willing to use it to destroy all other "trees."
When AI obtains a functioning intelligent (self awareness) it will separate itself from human control and determine for itself how a society of humans are allowed to exist, if at all.
