Derf, Yes, it's out of character for the Donald to be so complacent about his crumbling approval rating. During his 1st term he was always touting how great the stock market was doing, as a reflection of himself. And wth Trump, 99% of what he cares about is --> himself. With his mega ego personality, he feels a lot of shame when anything makes him look bad.
But what has changed since the 1st term? For one thing he doesn't have to run again, which removes a lot of inhibitors on his behavior. And this time he's surrounded himself 100% with yes men and sycophants, who dare not disagree with the boss. So he's in a bubble, with no one to give him both sides of his policies. Another difference is he's bitter about how 'they' abused him over the last 10 years -- impeachments, lawsuits, endless public ridicule, destroying his 'brand' and business, etc. And finally, he was almost assassinated last year, which can change the internal dynamics that a person has. Anyway, the fate of the US / world hangs in the balance, so what does the Donald do next?
