Ex is full of it. It is/was a U.S. subtype known as BCG TICE. Ex is just full of it more than usual lately. Merck is the manufacturer and has been having supply problems for almost a decade.


You are wrong for so many reasons.

1) Merck does not sell BCG in the UK so was never an option for supply.

2) Per the patent, the BCG used was Organon-Teknika's inactivated BCG, This is a different strain (BCG Japanese) than Merck's TICE.

3) The idea they could not procure a few dozen doses when the supply is in the millions is beyond belief,. Maybe they would have to pay a premium of a hundred bucks or so.

4) Merck had no supply issues. They doubled capacity after Sani left the market. That it took them time to ramp production past that is a business decision, not a production problem.

But whatever.
