Stop talking sht Proto. You've greatly contributed to $800 million in losses here with your constant false narratives. You should be ashamed. It's high time this board accept reality and talk about reasonable scenarios instead of the crap you peddle.
My take - something somewhere got F'ed up internally. Dysfunction and disconnect. T1s came to the labs in June/July (which prompted the Marcelli T1 deals closing comments)...and the T1s saw the dysfunction and disconnect. Then came the scramble to shake-up operations and management late summer into the fall.
For ~18 months the "4 channel PIC" was in company presentations as being "in development". See here in November 2023 for example:
I didn't confirm, but someone mentioned to me offline that they saw a reference to the PIC in an early 2024 presentation. OFC onward it was removed from presentations.
So either they weren't able to do it on their own, or there was such a lack of oversight on what was being put in company presentations and they included information that was not true.
Tom Zelibor is now saying we don't produce PICs (duh, the foundry does technically) and Yves confirmed the strategy now is license material and IP to PIC designers to create the PIC.
While I believe this is a perfectly fine business strategy (another one of my photonics investments operates this way - creating and licensing "IP blocks"), we are most definitely not seeing an EOP powered transceiver this year since it seems pretty clear there still is no PIC.
I'm sure LWLG will have some collaboration PR's this year and it will get exciting again. But damn...at least the band-aid is ripped off I guess.
