Looks like a trade of 2 players who had amazing years early on, with great promise for the future. Then the dip in stats and production set in.

Both teams are trading from positions of strength. Maybe one, both or neither of these guys finds their mojo again, but when you're a small market team, this type of deal is almost as good as it gets.

I think it's the kind of deal that can't be judged using the "who won, who lost" lens.

I have seen India Play a bunch. He draws alot of walks. And will get on a decent OBP, but his defense is starting to slip at 2b. His road/home splits also are a concern as his numbers away from cincinatti are not great compared to the hitter friendly reds ballpark. He is now going to a ball park that I see as more favorable to the pitcher. That isn't gonna help.

Road 2024 OPS 660
Home 2024 OPS 849

As for Singer his second half wasn't as good as his first half. Not even close. He can pitch athough not a super star. Although I wouldn't be surprised if his numbers aren't that fanastic in 2025 that ball park isn't favorable to pitching it is really that simple.

I believe the reds got the better of the deal. I wouldn't of done the deal if I were the royals. All is just my opinion, and I could always be wrong though.

I don't know enough about India but JJ has made some decent moves so far so I am willing to roll with this.
IMHO, Singer hit the ceiling of what he is and his value will never be higher than it is now so I was glad that the Royals struck while the proverbial iron was hot.
So, for that reason, I think that it was a good move
