Shorts get the short end of the stick or stock! They will notice that when the time is right!
Cummunication, intensifying negotiations, verticals and capturing shares by the institutions are correlated and the interests cannot be expressed exuberantly or in detail. Most shorts and 'sheep' make a point of this and try to influence this.
As long as this lasts for some it will seem like shorts making money. Part of the (sudden!) deal for investors and wealthy shareholders!
