I guess a reason for vagueness could be the natural variance in working with biological creatures. I doubt he'll ever be able to guarantee 2.0 GPa on every batch. I think there has to be a range that is acceptable. No idea what that might be, 1.7 to 2.1??? Still, even without numbers or a 3rd party if he had a potential customer come out and say, "We were at the testing and this silk is stronger and tougher than anything we ever seen," that would perk up investors in a major way. That's exactly what some test lab in Korea said a few years ago, then they disappeared like a fart in the wind. It's just so damn annoying the way he seems to deliberately hold the price down.
