NYT and WAPO both have subscriber retention departments. Tell the customer care person you need to cancel if you don't get the low annual rate you started with. They'll transfer you to customer retention. Bingo.
I'm still paying $8.99/mo for the NYT Digital 3 years running. Same routine for the local paper in Chg.
I'm paying $29 a month for the NYT online edition. That's $1 a day. But it includes an online subscription to the Athletic. WAPO costs me $16 a month. I pay around $60 for the WSJ online but that comes with the weekend edition hardcopy delivered along with our local paper.
I've considered cancelling the local paper but my wife reads it every morning with her coffee and we both like the Sunday comics. That runs $68 a month with the driver's tip of $10. I feel it's important to support them since a lot of local papers are shutting down.
