Seems like two ways to assess Kaiser’s response to MITIGATE.

One is the altruistic motivation (like us naive folks) where they see positive results and continue treating the MITIGATE cohort and expand coverage to everyone who meets the criteria.

Second is the financial motivation of the typical money grubbing dirtbag insurance company. Perhaps their supply pricing agreement with Amarin covers a fixed maximum of scrips so KP is putting the screws to Amarin in an effort to extract concessions.

My money is on the latter. Of course it’s possible MITIGATE was not successful, but I doubt it.

Kiwi, yes, my hope is that they are just continuing to dispense and monitor beyond the initial MITIGATE period to determine longer-term CVD impact. I just wish they would update the trial data online.

Man, it sure would be nice to have both a great primary endpoint outcome AND a CVD outcome.

Obviously, the trial is not structured like R-It and others (blinded, placebo, etc.). But it would be one more notch in the belt if there is positive outcomes.
