jroon, the damage is done Amarin had over a year to work with Denner. If he wins the proxy fight he will have the opportunity to sack whoever he wants and replace them with his choice depending on which committee the previous board member participated in... so he will have the final say.

Just to play Devil's Advocate here, but it sounds like Amarin was at least working in good faith with Denner and his team (and I doubt Amarin would lie about this publicly).

I question you describing Amarin's interaction with Denner as being in "good faith". Amarin's statement does not state that (of course no one would state that) and if you read the salient part, they only say that they have engaged actively with Sarissa, but it seems they only continue to question Carissa's demand for Board seats. It makes no mention of working with Denner in any fashion.

"Since Sarissa’s position was made public in November 2021, Amarin(AMRN) has engaged actively with Sarissa. We continue to question Sarissa’s persistent demand for, and expected value contribution from, Board representation, especially in light of the Company’s financial and operational progress and the ongoing Board refreshment program."

I expect this to be a repeat of the MDCO saga .
Denner will want control of the BOD and then engineer a sale to probably NVS if he can get several large EU countries to reimburse for secondary prevention CAD .

No BP is IMHO interested until they know the reimbursement decisions in France , Italy and Spain ...

JRoon71, Denner has over 25 million shares. That should demonstrate his
belief that Vascepa has real potential, and Denner put his own money where
his mouth is. Will both sides come out with a resolution prior to a proxy vote?
Maybe. The way I see this is KM wants to build his own little pharma. Denner
(I am hoping) wants to set up the company for a BP BO. My view is if the
company is to be sold I want that to occur quickly before KM has the chance
to hire a huge sales force. KM already hired a sales force for Germany which
he then had to fire! How many times do these egotistical executives have to
do this? Adam Feuerstein wrote long ago that AMRN should be sold to BP.
He even warned that now they were playing in in Cardiovascular BP territory.
(The implication being that AMRN would fail in a GIA strategy.)

JRoon71

Denner already knows how many votes he has IMO By him voting abstain at the last SHM he was able to see how many voted shares followed the same path

JRoon, With the number of shares Sarissa and Denner has invested in - there intentions is rather obvious:

Using their expertise and experience in the BIO world - to enhance shareholder value (direct translation: Make Money - what every investing in the end is about.
-------------------------------

I don't understand all the - 'implied possible 'hidden plans' you talk about' ?

You cant play more open than this: Sarissa and Denner says 'Exactly what their reasons are for calling the Special Meeting - and what they want to achieve.

Where you 'see the hidden agenda' - I don't understand !

J Roon...QUOTE..."We know ZERO about his intentions with the company."...I believe Denner's intentions are to sell the company...something that should have been done long ago. We are at a dollar and change...and destined to stay that way unless Denner takes over.

JRoon71, I read what they stated regarding 'communications' with Sarissa and that the potential Sarissa board picks did not come forward and offer solutions. I have no idea whether they had any conversations but I call bullshit on the fact that Amarin 'attempted to work' with Sarissa. They got called out and now they are all graduates of MSU. (Making Shit Up) to defend their actions.. (or lack thereof). They remained non-communicative to the shareholders regarding anything they may have done until the last couple of days where we have heard more from them than the past six months. They just have not been the leadership that I would like to see and their continual sucking up and selling their free shares and not buying when they are all way overpaid for their contributions. Pathetic. But I do agree that 2-3 Sarissa picks on the board would be better than 7 at this point.
