Just to play Devil's Advocate here, but it sounds like Amarin was at least working in good faith with Denner and his team (and I doubt Amarin would lie about this publicly). So we do have to be cognizant of the fact that Denner is playing his own cards.

I also agree that this has the potential to be extremely disruptive to the company.

Now, having said that, I have stated numerous times that I think part of Denner's MO here is to create a shit-storm to force Amarin into action. And I think he has actually had quite a bit of success in doing that so far.

I am not convinced that Denner really feels he wants or needs SEVEN board members. I am thinking he is throwing that number out because he wants Amarin to acquiesce and offer maybe 1 or 2 board positions. Realistically, it doesn't matter whether we have 1 or 2 or 3. It's the same voice. Seven would be a majority and would control the board. I really don't think that's going to happen.

My bet is that Amarin comes to the bargaining table at the 11th hour and offers enough to Denner to avoid the proxy vote (and I doubt it's SEVEN Directors).

EDIT: One last thing - the ONLY thing I am hesitant about is awarding Denner SEVEN board seats. We know ZERO about his intentions with the company. I DEFINITELY want his representation on the board. But I am not sure yet that I want to give him complete control (which is what seven seats would do).
