"As of August 2022, published estimates of the total global electricity usage for crypto-assets are between 120 and 240 billion kilowatt-hours per year, a range that exceeds the total annual electricity usage of many individual countries, such as Argentina or Australia."
YIKES! I used 120 Bln Kwh x the $0.13/Kwh I'm paying in New Mexico and came up with $15,600,000,000. That's a LOT of dough for the cleptocurrency mining industry to shell out annually and the figure is actually MUCH higher because I used the lower 120 Bln figure and $0.13/Kwh is lower than the national average in the US. $0.13/Kwh is a LOT lower than energy costs in Europe. If they could save 5% on energy costs, it would be significant. If they could save 50-60%, the savings would be HUGE!
If Lightwave succeeds in bringing their technology to the marketplace, many industries and individual companies will be waiting in line for years to upgrade their systems IMHO.
