I notice that Vascepa is the last of five options after statins on a list of drugs that might help people who have high cholesterol or a history of heart issues. I can't imagine most people will click on all six entries, even if they manage to find the page where Vascepa is described.
My concern is with the "side effects" entry for Vascepa. It sounds pretty grisly even though JT once described it as having the safety profile of aspirin. If what JT said is true, shouldn't the company be striving to warn customers appropriately of side effect potential, without scaring the hell out of them?
In this passage, it looks like the companies got to dictate how the warnings label should read. At least one of these companies didn't even list side effects. And this one tried to downplay it:
