Anavex found out AnavexPlus didn't make any difference whatsoever to outcomes, but they needed a new patent for A2-73 claiming a beneficial synergy. Besides, Anavex also realised that about 75% of patients would be on SOC Donepezil anyway.
In fact, why didn't Anavex use Plus instead of 2-73 and DPZ separately which would allow participants to take one pill rather than two?
However, according Georgjjl no co-medication at all is allowed in the P2b/3 AD trial. No Donepezil, no blood pressure meds, no headache tablets, no insulin, no vitamins, no cups of coffee etc etc. Nope nothing but either the purest distilled placebo and a clean as a whistle A2-73 is allowed!!!
So sorry there will apparently be no subgroup analyses to prove you right and me wrong :-)
