Thanks Raf! These don't look so bad since Fake Vascepa fell much more than Vascepa and Vascepa's drop was in line with the overall fall in prescriptions of all drugs.

Regarding the script numbers….
I’ve been wanting to speak about this for awhile.

Whether you look at Vascepa the molecule (including generic) or Lovaza, plus generic, both markets are essentially flat and have been for over two years. The value of using Vascepa with a statin to reduce cardiovascular event risk is not adopted at all. The question is why.
The number one killer of both men and women is heart disease. So, where is the disconnect?

There still remains an opportunity in the USA for Vascepa. Think about it. If the branded drug doesn’t grow because of a generic, then why isn’t the generic growing exponentially? The Vascepa molecule market has ranged from 101k to 104k prescriptions on a weekly basis. When you look at the market opportunity, one would think that we would be seeing script volume in the 200k plus range by now, if not more.

So, what’s the issue or impediment?
Company clout? Credibility? A lack of institutional infiltration? Effective commercials? A weak social media campaign?

This just isn’t a Vascepa problem, it’s a molecule problem.

Solution? Perhaps a new messenger??

Be well
