Not really. My suggestion is far from illegal. They did not PR based on this journal article. The share price is here at just above 70 cents. Their negotiations can still be ongoing and still dependent on milestones like the Journal. Far from illegal.
Has the company manipulated the price. No. I would have wanted a PR and not beholden to the Journal but that doesn’t mean they are not hammering some partnership out.
I got a story for you that looks illegal but not. Just to give what kind of hoops people will jump through to make money.
I have mentioned I worked for private contractors building toys for the military. One firm I worked for traded at $3 and sold to a British firm for $22. A large military supplier in the UK. Even though allied with Britain the new owners could not get the clearances for personnel to run the company. Mostly DARPA stuff. So the original owners ran the company and a bit poorly because as it turned out their interest was to buy the company back. Because the company for the British was like a lead weight on them they gladly sold for a song not many years after they purchased it. The repurchased company was then built up and sold to Lockheed Martin.
All legal and these guys went for a round trip twice with the same asset. I think controlling owners take every advantage they can get.
What I suggested earlier was far from illegal. And not even a hint of impropriety.
