It’s always been missing. It’s called Missling’s personality flaw as the number one face and promoter of our science/company.

Zero excitement and energy. Couple of crappy tweets is just not gonna cut it. Years of waiting for trial starts and slow recruitment.

Shareholders don’t have much confidence in him. It could all change in a moment and all would be forgiven. But it’s hard to watch. Especially when amyloid just died and we have the first pivotal promising non amyloid focused trial reading out and no one give a sht.

Get the pump machine going. Put us on the map. You want the science out there. Put it out there and make people pay attention.

Misslings integrity only goes so far.

Gambit53

By this time something should have leaked somewhere if we were getting spectacular results. Don’t think it would be humanly possible to bottle up those kinds of results when you’re dealing with desperate people

Understand and agree w/your sense of (WHAT ????). One positive point can be made about recent news...It does look like the Amyloid Plaque thesis people have just about entirely left the field. That matters b/c the entire food chain of insurance companies, memory clinics, dementia warehouses, and all the treatment/care centers now must begin to pack up and break camp. They must be in denial as the AVXL MOA eventually obviates their entire supply chain-system. That has to settle in...what is next to treat the seriously ill CNS patient and their families? NOT OUR PROBLEM ???? We'll see. AVXL did not create the existing CNS diseases treatment world but , like it or not, it's out there.

The fact that the massive CNS disease patient base and existing science shortfalls exist must be at least acknowledged. We better be ready to act when we open that Bag of Shat. IMO. That is the issue(s) that Dr.M. and AVXL staff must be ready to deal with next. Obviously, the existing suppliers do not know yet what is about to hit them nor how to deal with it in a positive manner. That includes WS. . IMO.

Science seems sound but there’s something missing…. Just can’t put my finger on it.

Gambit, imo greed is the missing ingredient here. Management is not first and foremost looking to line their pockets as priority numero uno. Unlike Sava who “writes” in bonuses if the pps reaches and maintains a certain pps. All I saw from our management was an pathway for an accerated sale to fill the coffers, very smart move imo.

When companies focus too much on money, it distracts from the true goal of medicine. Dr. Missling has shielded us from the death grips of loan shark HF’s allowing the science to go where the data leads instead of a early market penetration to give back returns. I think that this is the reason the company is in a very unique situation, unlike most other companies, giving shareholders an uneasy exhausted feeling. It doesnt help with the state of spending and by our FGov. and1 possibly 2 wars breaking out at any time either. Instead when doing things in life for the right reason, ie focusing on the patient, ultimately working towards a detailed individualised treatment for each person letting the natural path of science lead instead of politics or greed I believe we will see the greatest achievement in scientific discovery, in this case major CNS symptomatic relief in both Neurodegenerative and Neurodevelopmental diseases.

Also wanted to add I remember hearing that Dr. Missling put the clamp down on news once the Ph 2b Alzheimer’s trial started. His concern was that it might give bias towards results and wanted to let the results be unbiased and speak for themself.

Bring on the heart, eyes, prostate, liver, etc!

Cheers

I don’t think many appreciate exactly what the situation is. Suppose a climate scientist came up with a computer model that correctly produced results for the climate over the last five centuries, but atmospheric carbon dioxide was not a factor.

How much traction, publicity, or attention would he get. None. It completely goes against the consensus of scientists. The consensus controls the publications, research funds, and majority of news releases.

Now consider Alzheimer’s. The original research producing the ‘smoking gun’ for the cause of Alzheimer’s was published in 2006. It was only shown to be fraudulent this summer. What has happened over the last sixteen years? Students just beginning college in that year were were taught the ‘certainty’ of amyloid plaque causation of Alzheimer’s - and nothing else. Every student following them have been taught same thing. Many of those first students now have had their doctorates for over five years. Some may have their own labs, been published, and perhaps are recognized as an expert in the field of Alzheimer’s research. One of the co-authors of that original paper is now at the NIH, handing out grants for Alzheimer’s research. Guess what theory those who get the grants research.

Sixteen years is a long time to have been invested in a theory, and I don’t mean money. Careers, reputations, success, dreams of awards and prizes (Nobel, perhaps?) are all on the line. Imagine waking up one day hearing that the last sixteen years of your life have been a waste. That also goes for investors who have sunk millions of dollars into that theory.

I’m not surprised at all that Anavex is still under the radar. Too many people have too much to lose if Anavex is right. Don’t let any doubt creep in. Amyloid plaque causes Alzheimer’s. They must keep believing it, and the press must keep reporting it. They can’t afford to be wrong.
