What you really mean is, "those who have naturally superior resiliency and who were always destined to be a 5% at 5 yr survivor" drew the lucky straw, as by the end of the trial those were the only folks still labeled as a "control." The other controls were much more typical, experienced progression, crossed over, and received DCVax.
So, yes, if I had a choice to be one of the 5% of people who would be pre-destined to live 5 yrs after a GBM diagnosis, I would choose that fate. But knowing that I have a 95% chance I won't be in this group, I would of course elect to have DCVax.
