To return to penny stock crooks:

This is a bit odd. Many of you will recall that we found out more or less by accident that the DOJ had brought a criminal complaint against Kenneth Eade. We've been watching for years now, but the only things on the docket are the indictment itself and the assignment of a judge:

But now we suddenly have a new filing, from 14 March, 2022:

It seems pretty clear--Kenny has sent a letter to the Court, expressing his desire to represent himself in proper person. But in order for him to be able to do that, there must be a Faretta hearing to ensure that he's able to represent himself "competently, knowingly, and voluntarily."

For the Faretta case, see:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faretta_v._California

This is important. Some of you may remember H. Wayne Hayes, at one time owner of the TRON shell. (I no longer follow it, and so don't know what he's up to now.) He fought an open-and-shut case involving a crime he was charged with in 1993. He became a jailhouse lawyer, and appealed the guilty verdict three times. Third time lucky, I guess: the circuit court grudgingly agreed he'd found a winning technicality to plead. He was sprung, and ever since has been claiming he was really "innocent'.

But Eade's case is different; he hasn't been convicted. So why's he doing this? Might it have something to do with an expired passport?

Does he know Paul Manafort?
