Rather "Who should investors believe, the company's history or the company?"

It was not a shareholder who said for years that we're near the finish line or on the 1 yard line etc., the company did that.

The company was also 'moving towards' the end of the trial for years and years and towards data lock and TLD in 'coming months' etc.

So yes, by all means, ignore that history and believe what the company says over what they have done (or more aptly not done) especially since 'working on' can be defined in such a broad sense as to technically be true while having no real substance.
