Kiwi, That's a good question. Did the FDA deny us the right to label Vascepa that way?

The best way to look at the numbers is to look at net vs gross sales.

The net sales (reported top line revenue) figures discount all the various coupons and other discount deals being offered.

It is a game played by everybody in this space. Have to do it because of the way our (US) insurance plans work.

in some cases is the Co almost giving Vascepa away for free ( via its coupon ) ....simply to make a sale ?

No. I paid the cash price (no insurance coverage) on several occasions. The last refill at Costco, which has little to no markup, was a combination of the V card and something like GoodRx, and cost me $193 a month. Hardly giving it away. Insurance is kicking in something similar or maybe a bit less for people who are using the V card and their insurance coverage for a $9 script.

Wholesale price of Vascepa

At the bottom of Amarin's website for the HCP, https://vascepahcp.com:

The wholesale price of VASCEPA is $344.22 for 120 1g capsules and $402.73 for 240 0.5g capsules. Commercially insured patients can save with the VASCEPA Savings Card.

Not sure if the above is the wholesale acquisition cost (WAC) or Average Wholesale Price (AWP)... not familiar with drug pricing, but found there is a difference from this site: Drug Pricing and Reimbursement 101: RJ Health – Methodologies & Drug Claims – AWP, WAC, ASP, APC Explained
