Thanks, jbog. But I'm wondering, putting your conservative politics aside for a second, why don't you mandate that your employees be vaccinated?

Is it a political/philosophical issue with you? It seems from your posts that you would be greatly disadvantaged, if you lost a number of your engineer employees (and perhaps others) for any extended period of time or even permanently. Or do you believe that the science simply does not support such a mandate?

Hollywood, where I used to work, mandates COVID testing for all employees on a daily basis whether in the studio or on location. Losing a "star" actor for any length of time will, of course, cost the studios millions of dollars in lost production time. The studios, to the best of my knowledge, have not mandated vaccination, but actors like Sean Penn are now demanding that the entire crew and other actors be vaccinated. I assume you are opposed to those kinds of mandates.

No. We do require masks when within 6' for 5 minutes or more and we follow a strict quarantine/testing policy when someone is infected.

The 6' and 5 minute guidance e was the early recommendation. I believe I read that 6' is way too close. Safer to have people wear masks all the time when they are indoors. That is the rule at Berkeley.
