Yes, there are some statistical drawbacks with interim results. Folks should also keep in mind that we do a lot of subgrouping, so the sub-n's are even smaller. And these are conditional probabilities. Interims are not statistical free lunches, so if Missling thinks an interim is unwarranted or unwise, it probably is.
Most of this pushing for an interim peek is about impatience, share price fixation, etc. This is not the way to invest, whether a speculator in a biotech stock or management in an experimental drug.
