The problem is not if the results are good. The problem is if the results are close to being significant.

By taking a peek the interim results the requirements for statistical significance become more challenging i.e. tougher.

If the results are great then no problem. If they are close to the margins the peek could push them in to not the significant range both on the peek and the final analysis. The final analysis statistic significance level typically becomes a bit higher as a result of the peek.

Is that a chance worth taking is the question? It is a risk/benefit question. There is room on each side of the argument. For me, it is not worth the risk. Others see it differently.

If investing was easy, everyone would be rich by now.
