#186694 RE: 12yearplan #186693

Well, I WISH someone could help. My internet connection suddenly went down last night and I seem unable to fix it.

It was strange. Suddenly it just wasn't working. I get a message saying: Safari Can't Open the Page...because Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server "investors hub..."

Firefox doesn't work either.

Normally, when that happens System Preferences tells me I'm not connected to any network. But not this time. It says I AM connected to Verizon. So I have no idea what's going on.

I did what I usually do: restarted the computer. That worked. Until I tried to load IHub or any other site. When I do that, I'm told again that Safari can't connect to the server. Firefox doesn't offer any message at all. So I thought resetting my cable box might work. I'm never quite sure what plug I have to pull to do that. Why isn't there just a button for it on the box itself? Anyhow, I disconnected the one I think was the only possibility. That turned off the TV (which had been on all along), but when I plugged it back in, it didn't reset the box. The TV continued to work when I turned it on again.

Today, I tried all of that again, with the same result. So what's the problem? Is it a Verizon thing, or could it be something with the computer? I hope it's not the latter. It's working fine for anything that doesn't entail going online.

GOD I hate this stuff. I suppose the next step is to call Verizon customer support, which is always fun.

I'm going all in...not even waiting on your call. Starting to slide in my chips with this iconic image circa 1961 at the Cafe Wha?:
