#374581 RE: biosectinvestor #374578

My Doctor at City of Hope was involved in Car-T at it's infancy. The day I received my stem cells I met a patient who'd come out of remission and was put back in, he received his own stem cells the same day I got mine, that's now 6 years ago. Three days after his stem cells he received his modified T cells. In talking to my Dr. about it he indicated that it was his best hope, but there is a problem with the T-cells, namely they're effective for a rather short period of time. If all the disease is eliminated during that time, great, but if not future problems could be on the horizon. During the T-cell process with the man I met his temp went up to 107, which certainly put him at risk.

My Dr. wants me to stay in remission so as to never need T-cells, that's one reason I'm still on pill chemo. It's technology may have improved in the six years, but I gather it's still best to avoid it if you can.
