Statements can be challenged, and turned into grounds for legal nonsense. Quiet is a very common circumstance for less than well capitalized companies for which such litigation can be incredibly shareholder destructive. I have seen it. Companies get sued just before major news and end up parceling out percentages of equity as settlements to get rid of nuisance suits that had they been litigated, likely the parties would have lost. An abundance of caution may be frustrating, yet also very wise.
