Very interesting, thank's for posting. (Someday AMRN should run a
commercial that would ask people switched to generic Vascepa to give
it the smell test as well as to explain that rancid EPA may smell like
fish...and that may destroy any medical benefit.) Of course, I'd also
run an 800 number for AMRN's help in finding an attorney in case you
were harmed by a switch to generic Vascepa.

What we really need is for a consumer class action law suit against Hikma for their inferior quality and disgusting taste and smell. You are paying for a generic equivalent capsule and it is not equivalent at all!

Wow- You need to complain to the FDA. The oxidation laden fish oil is a public safety issue.

O - Much appreciated. For a point of reference, you rated gV smell a 6, what do you rate V?

Also, what is the price for both?

This is a major gift for Amarin. 100% guaranteed that they're running lab tests on gV and unless identical to V, they will bring their findings to the FDA. If the FDA does nothing, I don't see how Amarin doesn't bring this to the public. If would be a major dereliction of duty if they do not. Inform the public of the difference of smell and chemical findings (oxidation). Have a clever saying, like: you decide or your choice. Run an ad having 3 people do the smell test and show their reactions.

Amarin would be silly not to take advantage of this gift.

Raf the freezer test after 4 days shows no difference. Also contents of both pills remained liquid. Smell test below was the same result

Since this is a really important post, I want to make sure that I understand it all. What do you mean by the part in red? Frozen gV smells the same as frozen V or frozen gV smells like non-frozen gV? Or...?

Thank you.

One card chuck- Re: Oxidized generic

Taste and texture a light oil that really tastes like a strong fish.

Let me help you prosecute a complaint to FDA on your behalf.

If you're the inventive hobby type I'd love to see you run a little experiment - get or make a small wooden or metal box, install a standard lamp light bulb fixture on the top or side, get a thermometer, and run an elevated heat oxidation test on V and GV. You'll need to fiddle with the bulb size, you want the temp inside to be 100 F - 125 F - a dimmer switch with a 75 watt light bulb would work best. Find the right settings to keep the inside of the box at a constant temp and let it run for a month, then take the caps out, split them open, and do the smell test - if the GV smells even worse after this high temp test but V doesn't it will prove that the GV is more prone to oxidation over time at room temps, either because of what's inside the cap along with the EPA or because of the capsule shell composition, which AMRN has patented. I could easily do this myself if I had some GV, right up my alley.
