Earlier post says this happened last August, but still you have to question Du’s state of mind.

I think your dates are wrong, but nonetheless her stepson was caught in the opioid addiction. Du is a Harry Reid appointee.....big pharma is evil....big pharma execs should be jailed for causing opioid epidemic. Judge Du was personally impacted (recently) before hearing the Amarin case. Wild, sad, but relevant.

This is just horrible and bizarre

It obviously doesn't change the assessment of the decision, which is thoroughly flawed, but I'm officially embarrassed regarding my questioning of motivations

I guess I'm surprised she continued in service through that period. A leave of absence would have been totally expected and appropriate

Was the son..shot in a police standoff...or was the husband shot two years ago in a police standoff..

If her son was shot at a time she was adjudicating Amarin..Then Du is not only stupid she has very poor judgement..This whole story just gets weirder and weirder. Amarin should try to get her opinion vacated on the grounds that a mother losing her only child in a police shootout would not likely be in a frame of mind to judge a complex trial involving physiology and patents and the numerous mistakes she made in her decision bear that out.

There is no event that is harder on the mind than the loss of a child..
