My sarcasm aside, I would have to concede again that the Chinese government higher ups view this virus pandemic, which is what it is, as bad for business the same way the typical die-hard Republican views any disruption in commerce as bad for the bottom line.

I suspect when the toll of the Corona virus final tally is evaluated, the death rate from the Corona virus plus ordinary seasonal flu would be less than the expected death rate from "ordinary" seasonal flu during same time span had the Corona virus never appeared. The tracking of the Corona virus in all lead stories like a video game zapping extravaganza, representing real people in their population, organizes, concentrates and inflates the psychological fear in an unprecedented manner.
So bottom line, self destruction to economy by upping hypersensitivity to social interaction reduces community enhanced death rates.
