I also want to point out that the CEO already stated that people are interested in purchasing Xome. The CEO said it was a very valuable franchise. Perhaps Coop is going to sell it off, and be able to use a couple hundred million of the "worthless" nols quickly. This statement was made before the CEO and CFO bought shares in the market. One also has to consider that it might be in the works to spin off Xome as a public enterprise, to reap the multiples that Zillow enjoys. jmo.
mordicai, another possible reason for this very low pps could be those large hedge funds may know that there will be a share-4-value exchange and if xxxxxxxx of value is exchanged for shares then the lower the pps we all including the hedge funds get more shares.
Could it be that the hedge funds are taking the pps down to get more shares -4-value plus also trying to find sellers they win both ways. IMO
Unless the market is also on the inside. Remember, some months ago a company(maybe Zacks or Seeking Alpha)put out a price target of $5 as I recollect, due to a predicted major event that would impact COOP in the near future(I paraphrase). They did not say what the event would be.It may be they had inside information.
