sorry Al4door. No one should go thru like what you went thru. All because of chemo. I know how good dads are. You did your best. DcVax platform will help all cancer patients soon, imo. Hang on brother.

AL, That's a hell of a story to share and makes your frustration with things understandable to say the least. It'll work out I believe.

He was given it for colon cancer.

see:https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/colon-cancer/symptoms-causes/syc-20353669

I noticed that for a couple of years he became more and more paranoid, sometimes calling the police on me until social services began an investigation on me supposedly abusing my Dad by yelling at him.

For 7 years REALLY GRUELING years from 2011-2018, I moved from CA to the East Coast to being the caregiver to my "so-called parents": "so-called father" not only had colon cancer at the unheard age of 85 BUT had a 20+ yr degenerative spinal cord; "so-called mom" did NOT disclose (DECEPTION) she was diagnosed ten years ago with dementia. With her mental stage she had me investigated TWICE for over a year by BOTH the local police and various local government agencies for physical and financial Abuse to Elderly:Oh BTW BOTH were old didactic and feudal lord types! I WAS EXONERATED & NOTHING BECAME OF IT. I was ALSO involved in a FATAL auto accident ... appeared in TWO court proceedings( one would think NO LEGAL DOUBLE JEOPARDY: in NYS NOT the case!) Torturously.....I WAS EXONERATED HERE AS WELL.

As for CHEMO: that reminded me about what NWBO had to endure via Manipulative AF:

DC VAX DIRECT Ph1 trial took place at MD Anderson and Manipulative AF got Dr. Amun Buzdar a leading proponent of Chemotherapy to quash all the commentary by Dr. Subbiah Phd who is in charge
of the DIRECT trial.

MDAnderson deserves to have their inbox blown up after the Buzdar incident. What they did when they allowed him to speak to Adam was reprehensible. And his comments were ludicrous. He had no business whatsoever commenting on DCVax. He had literally nothing to do with the trial.

Remember, I spoke with Dr DePinho’s assistant (he was away at the time) and she was unaware of the article at the time. When I read it to her, her reaction was palpably horrified. But that was because I caught her before they could circle the wagons. Which they obviously did.

IMO it at least boils down to professional jealousy and perhaps a desire to kill a technology they weren’t in on the initial development of.

Al4door, I know that you've told us before about what happened to your dad, but never revealing this much detail. I am soooooo sorry that you had to go through all of this, and am sorry that your dad had to as well.

You really have been patient to a fault. And doubled down on your patience. Perhaps dealing with all the *^%# your father went through is almost easy compared to experiencing the past four years in NWBO. I very much hope that this wait is all worth it in the end for all of us ** and more importantly ** that it results in a tremendous reduction in the damage that chemo inflicts on cancer patients.

Thank you for sharing.

Al4door,

I believe your situation as described, which motivates you to stay the course, is similar to what Linda Powers is motivated by. I believed early on that she would do whatever it takes to get patients a better treatment and off of untargeted chemo and radiation at some point in development. The "gauntlet" has always been the greatest challenge to validation of NWBO's and UCLA's science and long term longs have watched and endured this process. Many here have done this at least in part in tribute to those who suffered through the painful option of chemo/rad vs doing nothing in the hope of a better day ahead. Glad to be here with you in support of the promising nature of that hope. Those syringes of DCVax-L in Dr. Linda Liau's hand, the blinded data and all those patient testimonies give us good reason for that hope. Dr. Ashkan's impatience also gives us reason to believe. Best wishes.
