Question about the heart patent… When a patent for a new uses filed does it have the full length of protection as an original patent or does it just strengthen the original patent without adding any time to it??

The patent read is interesting. Describes a phase 1 single ascending dose, double blind placebo controlled study on 17 Male subjects.
