It would mean that that indication is patented for the full term, so even if someone copied the drug that use would be covered.

Also remember there is a method of manufacturing patent that has extended the IP coverage over the compound itself.

The New Patent

My expertise is only in biology. Patent law is far beyond me.

But, I'm excited. In the last minute, I just learned that my daughter passed the bar examination in this, her home state. She is a member of the bar in the adjacent state where she lives; but wants the option of moving back and practicing law here. So pleased with her!

But some time ago I asked her about Anavex patents. Interestingly, she said she was incompetent to comment, that patent law is the only legal specialty that has specifically-trained lawyers. General lawyers have to know a good bit about all law --- except patent law. It's too complicated; takes specialized, lengthy training. So, my daughter was of no help.

Nor am I in telling any of the legal implications of Anavex patents.

Glad they got them, however.
