Wouldn't one assume Advent and Blackrock would want to buyout Advent from Toucan -- now that Pire is on board Advent?

I would not.

Pire was CFO at Cognate, Cognate split off Advent, and Pire elected to leave Cognate and take the COO position at Advent.

Is this really some big super-dot being connected here that an employee elected to go with the spun off company and not the parent?

As far as Blackrock, I seriously doubt they know who Advent, Cognate or Pire are. Blackrock bought out a mid size investment outfit that had a minor position in Cognate.

Blackrock manages something like $7 Trillion. They bought a firm that managed something like $5 Billion. And likely had a stake of under $50M in Cognate. That would be like somebody worth $10M buying a modest house and assuming they care about the $20 lamp in the hall.

Maybe Blackrock is working on Cognate buying Avid and moving Toucan to Tustin? Lol

If you said Tennenbaum et al, might resource Advent to buy itself out from Toucan, then I would agree it's a possibility, but not stronger than that.
Advent really doesn't have any intrinsic value yet, other than an agreement with NWBO and a contract with InMune Bio.
It has no licences, no manufacturing plant, and no intellectual property that we know of. LP's MO would suggest she will nurture it for several years until it is really autonomous, then perhaps sell ( when it is worth a big multiple of what it is now.)
