Reading through the slides this morning, I realize my small brain is becoming less and less able to process the increasing technical information that is being released.
My simple thoughts are this:
1. It sounds like we are continuing to make a serious amount of progress in the vacuum of news being released. It's actually been since March since we have had a 'performance' related news release. I am kind of surprised that Telcordia testing didn't qualify as one honestly. I am sure that was a management choice.
2. The certainty now of being able to SURPASS 100 GBPS Baud rate on a single device is telling from what we were told at the ASM where is was referenced only as possible. The way I read the slide presentation is to say that a 130 Ghz rate being achieved one day would equate to a baud rate actually North of 150 GBPS baud rate in a device. (40 Ghz = 50 GBPS baud rate in present technology)
3. This achievement sounds like it may be a lot sooner in realization than I might have imagined, enabling us to leapfrog everything else completely.
4. I still have no idea whatsoever on when the company will send out modulators for sampling by customers, but was told that would be PR worthy back at the ASM, so who knows. Is the timeline (from the ASM) in this calendar year? That's what sticks in my head, but I could be wrong on that.
5. It looks like there simply aren't ways the industry can make the advance that Lightwave potentially can. We will all be rewarded when they do.
6. Grrr. Keep waiting...
Best to the longs,
