My Take on last Night's Show
I will go by artist.
1) Michael (A)- His first performance I didn't understand 3/4 of the song. Didn't like the song choice. Didn't think the vocal was great either. The judges loved it, and even said he was clear. Clear? Really. Grade D
Michael (B) Well better than his 1rst performance as the vocal sounded better to me about average (slightly below), but that isn't saying much. 1/2 the song I still didn't understand, and didn't love the song choice. Grade C-
Overall Grade D+
2) Gabby (a)- Her first performance, I didn't like the song choice as it emphasized her tone, and that is not great. She was off part of the song, and the other part sounded a bit of a wreck to be honest. Grade D
Gabby (b)- The best she has ever been. the tone was not and issue in that song in fact it disappeared, and we were left will all the good gabby has to offer, knows how to sing, makes you feel something, has excellent power. This was the best performance of the night and not even close. I loved this performance. Grade A
Overall Grade B-
3)Cade (a) For me more of the same from him, not the greatest vocal, it wasn't even average for me. Grade C-
Cade (b) I thought this was one of his best vocals in this contest. In fact I really like it and really like the song choice. Grade B+
Overall Grade B-
4) Caleb (a) I thought he was flat in part, but I thought overall he did a slightly above average Job. Grade C+
Caleb (b) He has a nice tone, which is his biggest asset for me. but the song choice was kind of boring and also seemed a bit flat in this song as well. Just really average for me. Grade C
Overall Grade C+
5) Maddie (a) She won round 1 in a landslide. One of the better performance of the night. She as usual is consistent. I keep saying this week after week, but she is rarely bad is my point, nobody else in this contest can say that. I liked the song choice, and I think she sang it very well. Grade A-
Maddie (b) I thought she was solid in round 2, not my favorite song choice. She sounded solid, just the song choice for me was a bit questionable, as I think she did the most she could with that song. Grade B
Overall Grade B+
To me Maddie was in, regardless what she did this week unless it was an unmitigated disaster based on previous weeks, but she deserved to also based on tonight alone, she is by far the leader here going into next week for me. Caleb, although I thought he was 4th best tonight, to me cade didn't make up enough ground to pass caleb, as caleb was ahead of him overall. And Gabby deserved to get as it was close for me between cade and Gabby, but gabby had the best performance of the night and that punched her ticket. I agree with the people choices, and don't see much negative to say about what was chosen, outside of the fact is if it was up to me I would have done the same. All is just my opinion, and I could always be wrong though.
