my take on tonight’s show…
…
top 20 sing.. Happy Easter to you Skillz and also it was an idol Easter theme with religious songs.
- canaan- too much screaming and was flat at times. sweating badly and looked tiredl
- drew- it was odd and flat at times, but just ok
- desmond- very entertaining but just not my thing
- filo- he gave his all but pitchy and not great.
- josh- wow, very good. simple but very very good.
- T-storm- hmm, not great but his pants made it’s own statement. lol
- john- he has the country look and tonight he had the sound too. it was wholesome as if i was watching back in the 1970’s.
- mattie- nope, next
- olivier- started off good but then got icky.
- breanna- kelly clarkson rocked this song back in the beginning, and so did breanna tonight! will her weight keep her back? we shall see. sorry, but its idol and looks also matter. she is my fav so far.
- victor- uh oh, flat and a boring start. the gloves were michael jackson type, over the top. just meh, for me.
- baylee- sappy, boring, cant make out the words. nope
- isaiah- uh oh, nope
- gabby- I didnt like it
- slater- not good
May i say that Ryan has not aged a bit since day one on idol. amazing.
- zaylie- nope
- jamal- love this guy but i am not into the screaming churchy stuff. I am a Christian but, wow.
- che’ - ugh, not good
- kolbi- meh… but i loved the message of the song but it was once again, over the top.
monday night eliminates down to the top 14 they said.
wow, you gave them a ….
..
lot more credit than i did but thats why i like seeing our different opinions just like the viewers have.
wow, so i figured “kick off” day would just be the one night, not two, but i guess kick off is sunday and maybe monday is singing for the ones remaining.
im off to a medical test, wish me luck.
My Take on last night's show
I thought tonight was so much better than last night show.
1) John-Don't love the song choice. Solid vocal, but a bit ordinary. Slightly Above Average. Grade C+
2) Desmond- Singing a SW Song. didn't like the song choice for him. Was a pitchy mess in parts, and it was all over the place. Below average. Grade D+
3) Drew- Singing my favorite AL Song. As always she is consistently good. She was excellent in my opinion. excellent emotional haunting vocal. One of the best singers in this competition in my opinion. Grade A
4) Canaan-The next platinum ticket holder. This gospel singer admittingly not my favorite genre of music. But he can sing. I thought he did a good job. Grade B
5) Filo- the final platinum ticket holder. a little overdone, and few too many runs. But still a good performance overall. Grade B
6) Kyana- Singing a song I never heard before. But I loved it. I thought it was a really good vocal. Near excellent performance. Grade A-
7) Olivier-Not his biggest fan, but I thought this was his best performance so far by a huge margin. Decent vocal, a few part where it is flat. but overall still decent performance which is massive improvement for him. Grade B-
8) Greyson- Not my favorite song to say the least, might of been the worst song sang tonight. She can sing and made the most of that song, but you could only do so much with a song like that. Decent. Grade B-
9) Josh- singing a EJ classic. I thought that was a really good job. he is a little awkward the way he performs, but it really didn't matter for me. Good performance. Grade B
10) Mattie- That was the worst we heard this 15 year old she wasn't very good on this and I'm being nice. below average. Grade D+
11) Thunderstorm- Singing a BM Classic. That was by far his best performance in this competition, than again I thought that was one of the best performances I heard this season. He was excellent, everything was perfect the song choice was perfect, the way it was arranged was perfect, the vocal and the vocal choices as perfect, the emotion was perfect, as he really felt that song. Grade A
12) Amanda- It was okay, I like parts, I didn't like others, a little over the top in parts as well. Just average. Grade C
My favorite were Drew, Thunderstorm, and Kyana. My least favorites were Desmond and Mattie tonight.
If I had to cut 4 people from both shows. My bottom 3 last night plus desmond would be the bottom 4 I would choose.
My understanding is AI is on for 5 hours combined Sunday and Monday. 3 hours on Sunday, where not only do they announce the top 20, but those top 20 perform. we find out on Monday who the top 14 is based on what happen on Sunday. At least that is my understanding anyways. All is just my opinion of course.
my take on tonight’s show (mon april 14, 2025)…..
….
i started fast forwarding the judge’s comments as they gush over everyone. im glad they are nice and normal people, but just saying.
- john- loved it! he was a little unsure and they should have slowed the song down some, but he did good and will be great as he grows. as usual, the band was amazing.
- desmond- awkward and horrible.
- drew- good but depressing.
- canaan- uh oh, no energy but loved that he pushed his message about Jesus, but it was not a good performance.
- filo- very good but a little too “yelly” for me. yet, very entertaining. the band had it easy on this one.
- kyanna- slow start, it was odd and strange, just “meh” for me.
- olivier- hmmm… not sure on this one. low energy, flat at times, and depressing song.
- grayson, another depressing song. we need upbeat fun stuff. we have had years of “poor me” songs, its time to get out and be happy for once. he sounded ok but weak.
- josh- crap, i really wanted to love this. but it was too fast for him and he was out of breath (i cant blame him on this version) and was uncomfy to watch.
- mattie- nope/next!
- t-storm- ok, wow, he rocked this one! a great “chill vibe” to this type of song, looked relaxed and he did this song justice! im impressed!
- amanda- uh oh, spaghetti-ooos, i didnt like it.
next sunday is kick them off night. i dont like watching all that drama, i may skim through it and wait to see what your report is on that. lol.
Yes I liked her the best, but I gotta to give a honorable mention to the guy that lead off the show he was really good on the SW Classic in my opinion.
great review, and …
…
im thrilled you also like breanna the best too.
yup, the judges gush over everyone. its odd.
My take on Last Night' s show
To be fair the reason why your finding it better is because of the subtraction of KP who took the show on a much different path to say the least. Now on a negative note I long for the days of early AI as the judges now are simply impressed by everyone. Everybody is great, everybody can do no wrong, I actually thing negative remarks are helpful once in a while, not everybody had the best performance of there lives that night, it is okay to say that. don't have to be mean, but a little more difficult such as you don't get a glowing review by simply walking on a stage. I really can't tell the difference in the response between a good performance and a bad performance in my opinion. Just one man's opinion.
Yesterday was the first batch of 12, today is the second batch. here goes with my review.
1) Che- The English guy starts off the show with a SW classic. Very solid vocal and very good performance. He is one of the better voices in this competition in my opinion. Grade A-
2) Penny- I have to say, me and you differ here, can't say it was perfect, and maybe I graded on a curve because listening to the practice she was 1000 times better in the actual performance. Having said that I thought it was decent. Grade B-
3) Kolbi- The Platinum ticket holder that I still have no clue why she is still in this competition. Not her worst. yet the usual combo of over the top and screamy in parts. Below average for me. Grade D+
4) Baylee- The idea this guy is singing a song named with that title was a combo or ironic and a oxymoron because he gives you the impression at the very least of being unhappy. Voice is just mediocre, missing something, draggy. Slightly below average. Grade C-
5) Victor- The good news is he can sing. Bad news is you wouldn't know that with the song choice which wasn't good for him to say the least. The arrangement was even worse. Wasn't clear in parts. Vocal was just okay. Slight below average. Grade C-
6) Gabby- Singing a CD classic. Better than normal, and good in parts. But when she powers up and belts out her tone is a combo of a bit pitchey and a little annoying at times. Having said that she did enough in that difficult song for me to say slightly above average. Grade C+
7) MKY- Well he was singing in falsetto and to be fair the song he was singing calls for it. the falsetto isn't bad, but not perfect with some pitch issues, to be fair if you sing a whole song in falsetto it is almost impossible not to have pitch issues at some point. Don't generally love all falsetto song, because for me I find it a hard listen on the ears. He was just okay for me. Grade C
8) Zailee- This was one of the people that got a automatic pass last round, I can't believe she actually got a pass let a automatic one. Let me sum it up, issues with timing, to pitch, to off key, and a not so great sound, with some voice cracking all put in one performance. By far in my opinion the worst performance of the night. Not getting what the the judges are seeing here.Grade D-
9) Breanna- Singing a LD Song. She is one of the best singers in the competition. She is so consistently good. She can flat out sing. excellent performance. Grade A
10) Isaiah- He was solid on this song, good timing, good vibe. good performance. Grade B
11) Slater- Odd song choice. His voice doesn't go with the song. Not to mention I don't mind a good growl once in a while, but like a run, if you overuse it. it doesn't sound very good and I'm being nice. Probably being generous here with the grade. slightly below average. Grade C-
12) Jamal- And now it was run guy. A little over the top, not perfect, but still good. Grade B
12 more sing tonight. 20 make it too the next round out of 24. I could easily eliminate from this group Zailee (Top choice), Kolbi, and Baylee. those are my bottom 3. The top 4 Were Breanna, Che, Jamaal and Isaiah. Anyways just my take. All is just my opinion of course.
my take on tonight’s show (sunday april 13, 2025)….
….
I’m really enjoying this season sooooo much, over many previous years. Class and kindness has been brought back to the show.
having said that, there was too much kindness and gushing form the judges for bad singing, but whatever, lol.
12 of the top 24 sing, so i assume monday night, the other 12 sing?
here we go…
- che’- he did good but the band was great! love this song, in general.
- penny- hated it.
- Kolbi- screechy as usual. i didnt like it.
- baylee- love the song, in general, but he was dragging and made it boring. I didnt think that was possible for this song.
- victor- uh oh - not good.
- gabby- slow start , did ok, but not amazing. you have to look away some when you listen, and then think.. would i buy this song or NOT change the f.m. radio or pandora or x/m radio station , if i heard it? dont get wrapped up in the hype.
- MKY - i still dont like his whiny voice but he is a nice and humble man.
- zaylie- uh oh, nope, it was downright awful!
- breanna - I LOVED IT! BEST OF THE NIGHT SO FAR (and later, i can verify that i think it was the best of the night but its a close call with Jamal later.) she was so powerful and then modulated (went up a few notes, for those that may be reading but dont know what that means) it gave me chills. sadly, the video glitched a couple of times, during her song. did that happen for you???
- isaiah- nice “vibe” and he did good but the band was, once again, amazing. they are top notch.
- slater- uh oh - bad song choice. i love his voice but he blew it on this one i think.. it was awful as it went on. he was doing “Izzy’s” version of “over the rainbow”
- jamal- he is such a cool guy, just love this guy but he was flat at first, yet, very very entertaining. then it got way better as he went on. just a bit too much yelling, imo but very good.
i just got a paper cut turning the pages on my notes, lol. i was going to post a pic of it here for fun. then said.. no one wants to see that. lol
cant wait to see your reply.
she also kind of looks like her too.
made me giggle when you said they were in combat (voices)
I know it is a strange thing to say, but it is true that you can have two good singers, but there voice so don't go together. that is why I when I evaluate, evaluate the duets less heavy, because it is a little bit luck if you get the right partner. You both can sing well, but as whole it can still sound terrible if they don't mix very well.
did you play the 2 songs i added there? you only have to click on them as they play on the spot.
I see some similarities although I think there styles are a bit different (as I find this a bit more jazzy/folk and I wouldn't say Breanna in that genre, but there is some similarities in the sound of the voice. she had a nice voice though. Of course Jazz/folk music is far from my favorite. I tend to like pop, rock, r &b are my favorite 3 genres in my opinion.
yup, i also like the….
…
new format but what if they get down to just one left to go through, but they wasted it on other singers, i still think its best to hear them all and then decide but maybe their minds are made up already to streamline it this year.
made me giggle when you said they were in combat (voices)
did you play the 2 songs i added there? you only have to click on them as they play on the spot.
My take on the show
I kind of liked the format this year of who they let go and who they didn't you watch them perform, and than they tell you right away if they go home or go through. Just thought I would mention that first as it was a little different from years past.
1) Thunderstorm and Drew- I really like the emotional duet, voices really worked together. thunderstorm was solid in this, and Drew was fantastic as usual. she is really good. Both go through I agreed especially with Drew who is one of the best they have.
2) Sonny and Che- The two English guys. First of all the two voice really didn't mix very well and I'm being nice. Sonny was terrible and Che was just okay, but we have heard him in the past he is a very good singer, it was almost not impossible to get thrown off by Sonny who I said was brutal. Since I discunt a little of what we hear from the duet round/group round, and am weighting more of the individual stuff that I remember I would put through Che and send sonny home. That is what the judges did. so I agreed.
3) Greyson and Penny- It was a solid duet. Penny was not perfect but the performance of overall leaned me towards a yes. Greyson can really sing, obvious yes there. Both go through, I kind of agree.
4) MKY and Josh- I don't love MKY voice, but I like the duet with Josh. Granted Josh is obviously better, but lack confidence as you said. I would of passed on MKY (But when I hear a good duet admittingly I grade up so wasn't overly against him going through). Josh is a definite yes. both went through.
5) Amanda and Victor-The definitely performed well. solid vocal by victor, I liked the vocal by Amanda better than Victor's. both go through, I agree.
6) Kyana and Yana- I didn't like this duet, I would of sent both home. But they put Kyana through. To be fair Kyana was better, but that was saying much because yana really wasn't very good.
7) Nina and Slater- Both have not great tones, don't really like either singer or the performance. They put slater through. I thought Nina was a bit better than slater, once again not saying much.
8) Baylee and Keilene- I didn't love it overpowering in parts. Keilene seemed like she was shouting. hard pass. Baylee, what can I didn't love it. I would of passed on both. Baylee goes through.
9) John and Clara- from what I heard John should go through and Clara shouldn't Judges did exactly that.
10) Filo and Kolbi- the two other platinum ticket holders. Filo was good, kolbi was better than normal, but still not very good. I would still pass on her, and kept filo. They Kept both of them as expected.
11) Isaiah and Krystal- wasn't good. Krystal was better, but I would pass on both. Judges put Isaiah Through.
12) Cali and Olivier- Thought it wasn't very good and I'm being nice. but not surprising at this point for some reason they love this Olivier guy he doesn't sound very good to me. But they put him through. I would of passed on both.
13) Cruise and Kam'ron- neither were perfect, but I would of put both of these guys through over some of the people that actually made it in my opinion.
14) Desmond and Jamaal- both can sing, but it was the wrong song for both, and there voice was like in combat which each other. Now I like both of there voice individually hence I would put both through, although I didn't love the duet because that combo so didn't work.
15) Breanna and Riley- Was a good duet both should of went through. Obviously Breanna was better she is one of the best singers in this competition, but riley would of easily went through for me if I was making a top 24.
All in all for the most part they were close to what I would of done, I would of added few people in and subtracted a few people, Having said that there were no glaring omissions. Hence overall for the most part I agree with the choices, and I would say they got say the the top 12 to 15 singiers this year through based on how I would rank them. Anyways just my opinion of course.
my take on monday night’s show….
….
I am posting my thoughts but not always who stays or goes, unless its unexpected and frustrating, lol…
its duet night…
- sonny and che’ - sonny was off key, che’ was better.
- grayson was a cry baby but she was better than Penny but the overall the song was good.
- MKY yucko …. josh was better but he kept putting himself down. not good for an idol to do that. he did really good though.
- amanda - meh, but victor was good, but the song was just too slow. it should be a little faster.
i was not happy with who gets through so far.
- kyana was ok but yani was not good.
- slater did good but nina was angry looking and flat/off key in spots. the song was boring and ended badly.
- baylee and keilene both didn't do well, imo.
- john and clara - they hardly played their song but they both sounded good.
- filo did good but flat some and kolbi, as usual, i didnt like her singing, it was not good. but the judges put both through since they have to back up the fact that they gave the tickets to them. they need to do away with that ticket thing.
- isaiah - uh oh, was awful. and krystal was off key at the start but they got better. they put him through and ditched her. It should be the other way around.
- cali and olivier, both were horrible yet olivier gets through.
so, check this out…
breanna, from the start of the season, has reminded me of eva cassidy.. both in looks and style of singing… (linked below)
(update) the link didnt work here, but here is just one of her amazing songs.. fields of gold.. if you have ear buds, it sounds amazing in stereo in your ears.
At the end of the day there were three groups. a small group of 4 that get a Automatic pass to the top 24, a group of 16 that was automatically cut, and a group of 42 who was never called who is still in the competition and will compete tonight for 20 spots.
ahhh, ok, cool, i thought all the….
…
others in that group got kicked off, lol. i didnt watch who got through, i was tired, lol.
They put 4 people through automatically (The 4 people I mentioned I would of literally cut 2/4), they cut 16 people (Most of the people we seen cut were either people I didn't think were very good or we simply didn't hear) there is 42 left tonight the two two girls you mentioned look to be part of the 42. they will sing tonight in duets 21 groups. And out of those 42 people 20 of those will make it we will probably find out who these people are after tonight to make the top 24. All is just my opinion of course.
wait, hold on………
…
they ONLY put 4 through out of that whole bunch???? and our top two ladies didnt make it?????
My Take on last night's show
Here goes.
1) Victor- was just average vocally for me, with an over the top performance. I would pass.
2) Mattie- The 15 year old girl, I don't love her tone always, but she had so many good moments in the song too. Solid overall. I would keep her.
3) Kolbi- the first of the platinum ticket holders. A lot of bad notes along the way, I get she was sick, but she hasn't sounded good yet despite the judges loving her. Obviously I would pass.
4) Isaiah- hit some bad notes, didn't love the key he was singing in either. Had some good notes. overall just mediocre. I would pass.
5) Breana- Another very good vocal, one of the best voices in the competition. she was really good. easy yes.
6) Drew- Started off acapella, she changed the song a bit. But I really, really liked it I thought it was amazing.
7) Jamal- I call him run guy, because he loves his runs. Too be fair odd song choice for him. I actually thought he was solid overall on that one though.
8) Kam'ron- a male country singer forgot a bunch of words average vocal at best. I would pass.
9) Samantha- from what I heard, I didn't like it, too fast, not great tone. I would pass.
10) Jazzy- from what I heard it didn't sound great and she forgot the words. I would pass.
11) Nina- Another bad vocal from what little I heard. Another pass.
12) Amanda- Generally I really, really like her. Her tone wasn't great on this one, she can sing, but over done it parts. just average for me. I would give her another chance based on the fact she was outstanding the first two times we heard her.
13) Desmond- I have to say I thought that was much better than you. but the arrangement was just weird it was like 3 different singers sang the song. first we had straight up signer, than we had b--boxing where admittingly he lost me, than we has rock/hard singer at the end. He has talent, and I remember how brilliant he was his first audition, but that song was a big all over the place the way he structured it. Like Amanda I would keep him, based on past performances, but have to be honest we heard much better than that from him. I'm being nice when I say it was average at best.
14) John-I thought he was good. Good tone, decent voice, good song choice for him. The audience was going nuts for him, if that is any indication he is gonna be popular if he advances to the top 24 in my opinion.
15) Zaylie- The judges stood up for her, I thought she wasn't very good and I'm being nice. she was a combo of pitchy and screamy.
16) Filo- Another platinum ticket holder, it was better than Kolbi, having said that just average for me.
17) Slater-don't know whether I liked it or I didn't. Just okay for me.
18) MKY- singing in Spanish, a little nasally for me. don't love his tone I would pass.
19) Gabby- Judges love her, I found it to be a combo of screamy and Pitchey. Hard pass for me.
Went through a segment where they showed a whole bunch of people. The only one I heard from the little I heard that was any good was Grayson. the rest of them were varying levels of passes.
20) Thunderstorm- I actually think he did a decent but unspectacular job. although his style is very strange, and often times he is too soft. Slightly above average on this one.
21) Olivier- the guy with the weird spelled name. Don't like his tone, wasn't very good, yet the judges loved it for some reason.
22) Canaan- The third platinum ticket holder, he can sing, a little too churchy for me as well, he is a gospel singer so that is too be expected a bit. he is good though, but not my style. And I question is that what an AI is suppose to be. having said that if I were the judges I would put him through, let America decide if that is the case, because his talent is unquestioned, it is whether his style should be an AI. I say not but lets find out doubt you can find 24 better singers than him anyways.
We were told there was 62 contestants started this round. They told us 42 contestants will sing duets today for 20 spots. They eliminated 16 people based on the math, sorry my analytical brain is probably boring you with these calculations, but when ever I hear numbers I have a need to make calculations it is a gift and a curse. LOL.
They put 4 people through to the top 24:
Mattie- the 15 year old I agreed.
Zaylie- she wasn't very good and I'm being nice. I disagreed.
Gabby- once again disagreed as she was not very good.
canaan- although I have question whether he is an AI, I would personally put him through and let America decide. so I agreed with them putting him through.
All is just my opinion of course.
My take on sunday’s (april 6) show…..
…
- victor- he sounded stuffy, too many runs. his “moves” were entertaining but embarrassing, lol.
- mattie- had flat spots but pretty good, yet not great
- kolbi- she had a cold but either way, this was just horrible yet the judges gushed.
- isaiah- sappy but was just ok and boring.
- breanna- wow! LOVED it!! got chills and after i got chills, the judges said the same thing.
- drew - wow again! she was soo amazing that i got chills a second time!
- jamal- good but flat in spots.
- kam’ron - (these names are a trip now days) anyway - no idea what the words were, awkward movements, just “meh” for me.
- nina- uh oh, nope
- amanda- nope
- desmond - horrible, nope and i think he was possessed, lol.
- john- weak start, flat and just not good.
- zaylie- horrible, but judges gushed once again
- filo- off key and not good
- slater- performance on stage was good but awkward. his singing seemed fake-like, as if not really there, but it was ok.
- MKY (another odd name) sang in spanish on AMERICA’S GOT TALENT, but having said that, i really like latin style music but he was whiny sounding and just meh for me.
- gabby - uh oh, she really pushed the race card and even sang about the race card. it was screechy and weak. but the judges, once again, gushed. i see a trend here on who gets gushed over so far.
- they whipped through some singers so fast, i didnt bother so.. next was…
- rylie- nope
- thunderstorm - that name, lol. what were these parents smoking? ok, so, back to the song.. it was ok but mousy and too soft. He should change his name to “drizzle” lol.
- olivier (yes, thats how its spelled) - the canadian cat boy- horrible but judges loved it.
- canaan- way too churchy, yelling, screaming at times, its just not for me and IM a Christian but this is not something I would go out and buy, thus, thats what idol is all about.
i didnt watch who goes through, but breanna and drew were my favs of the night.
good point, thx.
There is nothing wrong with a well placed run, the problem is the people that use runs, generally overuse them and that in lies the problem in my opinion.
my thoughts on the monday show….
…
I watched all of it but only posting stand outs, good or bad.
- che’ - excellent. now they need to get him glasses that dont keep sliding down as it takes away from his great voice when he pushes them up, lol
- cruz- omg, wowza, i even got chills!
i didnt watch much of the crybaby sappy sad stuff. next, lol….
- carson - NOPE
- mattie- very good, nasally, but good.
- josh, got bored, sorry.
- sam- yipes, nope!
also, some forgot to “dress for the occasion” i mean come on some of you, dress for success, have you ever heard of that? lol
- jamal- super clean sound and voice, sappy but very good. i dont like the runs and i think you said that too. its not needed these days.
omg, ok so i just….
…
read all of this. great report!!
i had no idea it would be such a long list of singers so i may hold off posting each person until its narrowed down some.
i will maybe post my stand outs and “thurndersorm”?? thats someone’s name? i dont recall that person. oh, i see, because they passed a lot of people that we didnt get to hear. some of these names, their parents must have been high as a kite when they named them, lol.
i plan to watch it tonight. i will post later tonight.
My Take on Last Night's Show
First the platinum ticket people come on, which to be fair I don't think as a whole are very good considering they got platinum tickets. I laughed when they said this is what they were up against. because I was thinking we better see better than that otherwise it will be a disappointing, just one man's opinion.
1) Breanna- Sings a LD song, perfect vocal, great control, excellent power, excellent emotional performance. Hard to see many people doing better than that.
2) Che- a guy from England, singing a DH classic song. Another really good vocal, and excellent performance.
3) Thunderstorm- singing a original song for his wife. a very weird song, not sure I like it or didn't like it. Slightly above average for me overall though.
4) Crews- He was singing a CT song. excellent tone and really good vocal in my opinion. I like it a lot.
5) Jamier- from what I heard granted not much, sounded sour to me. didn't like.
6) Katelyn- Nervous and not very good. Another pass for me.
7) Insite- another terrible vocal but I can't say I'm shocked, can't believe he got through the audition phase. Have to say this is a must pass
8) Lola- daughter of WP, okay at best, pitchey and forgettable with no power. I would pass.
9) Baylee- son of BB singer, singing a original song. Can barely speak up at times, other parts I do like him, overall simply not sure whether I like him or I don't. On a side note everytime we see this guy, I just feel he might be the most depressed contestant I have ever seen. Maybe I'm wrong, but he just seems so unhappy. Maybe it is me.
10) Carsen-The hair guy, I thought the vocal was solid, although I have to admit a little too much about hair. he talked more about his hair in that video than I did in all the years I have been on this planet. okay maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but pretty close. LOL.
11) Mattie- The 15 year old girl singing a CS song. Raspy voice, nice emotional vocal. Near excellent performance she was very good.
12) Andrea- forgot words, and when she was singing she was screaming. hard pass.
13) Alexis- a combo of mumbling and forgetting word. Hard pass.
14) Josh- Singing a RA Song I thought he was really good on this song. Loves his instruments though playing the piano and harmonica in this one.
15) Amanda- Singing a EJ song, another person who can flat out sing. Another excellent vocal in my opinion.
16) Drew- Very stylized artist, but a very haunting in a good way performance. I thought it was very good. I liked it.
17) Olivier- The guy with the funny spelled name from Canada. I didn't love it too nasally for me.
18) Gabby- from what I heard I didn't love it waaaaaaaaaaaaay too screamy for me, yet the judges seemed to love it.
19) Sam- Singing a JC Song, I don't like his tone and didn't love it.
20) Isaiah- Singing one of my many favorite songs, not perfect, but good in most parts. overall solid.
21) Landynn- from what I heard it was off. Just mediocre. I would pass.
22) Jamal- He can sing, but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many runs for me. Just mediocre.
23) Sonny- Singing a WH song, like we never heard sang that way before. Not sure I like the way he sang it and the vocal was far from perfect. Voice just mediocre for me.
24) Victor-Not my favorite song, but he can sing and has a nice tone.
25) Slater- The judges seem to love this guy I just don't get it. Another mediocre original song, don't love his tone and mediocre voice.
Not that it was perfect, but for the most part looking around the two rooms that went through and the two rooms that went home in general I agreed with the judges decisions in my opinion. Anyways that is my take of tonight's show.
i just watched sunday's show and….
…..
(i will watch monday/tonight’s show by tues night, is the plan) so here goes..
- jmarie- had rough spots but i actually liked it.
- zaylie- NOPE
- Kaleo- she was good
- nikki- hated it
you posted carolin and claire, i missed them somehow? even backed up the dvr/video.
- landynn- loved it
- gabe- meh, but good enough to move on, thats fine by me
- lexi- didnt get to hear enough of her to decide
- ethan- he took their advice, slowed down, did good. mom sang with him, she was horrible.
- anna- the Oprah lady, nope!
- trent- i love that old song but he was nervous, just average, no for me.
- cal- horrible
- sarah- meh
- olivier (yes, thats how its spelled, lol)- meh
- will (funny eyes) as you called him.. and its a no from me.
- yani- i liked it a lot, but the nose rings , yuck. she barely got through which was shocking, she is good.
- clara- cute, humble but lose the moles if you make it, they are distracting, just saying, its a fact of show buz is all. no idea what words she was singing, odd but ok voice but a no from me
- derek- the crooner, i thought it was ok but he got the boot.
- santina- good
- malik- good
- kyana- loved it!
- lillian- the hoola hoop girl - odd but i liked it. she should have gone through.
- samantha- i didnt like it
- canaan- gets the plat ticket.. it was very good but way over the top. way too churcy and im a Christian, but just saying. i didnt think it was that great as they made it out to be but L/R kind of pressured the judges by walking behind them pushing them to say nice things, lol
i just read every drop. it…
..
sounds like, as you said, they put a lot through that shouldn't go but they need some bad ones to kick off later i suppose.
i wonder why they have a “canadian” version when its “American” but oh well.
“hoola-hoop” girl, haha.
im looking forward to it, i plan to see sunday’s show tonight and if i can do both, i will also watch monday’s or i may save monday for tues (to watch)
My Take on Sunday's Show.
I watched it late last night. here are my thoughts.
1) Jmarie- Singing a CU song to CU again. It wasn't perfect, but had more good moment than bad. Good Power and off in a few parts., but overall decent. At this point I would put her through and they did.
2) Zaylie- Didn't love the original song to say the least. Hit tons of bad notes and not a great listen in my opinion. Hard pass for me, and the judges put her through.
3) Nikki- Not a very good tone from what I heard. I would pass and the judges put her through.
4) Caroline- From what I heard that wasn't singing that was yelling. I would pass but the judges put her through.
5) Claire- the 16 year old girl maybe a little over the top, but she can sing. hence a easy yes for me at this point, and the judges put her through.
6) Landynn- A emotional singer, not perfect, but I thought he was more than good enough at this point, although a few too many runs for my taste. I would put through and the judges did.
7) Gabe- Weird style, didn't love the song, I would pass overall as I didn't love it, but judges put him through.
8) Lexi- From what I heard, I didn't like it, but the judges put her through.
9) Ethan At first I didn't think he was good enough as his tone was a little too nasally for me. Luke kept interrupting him, but he kind of started singing much better as it went along, so it actually worked making him sing better. started off as a no, but ended as a yes here for me. The judges put him through.
10) Anna- a opera singer, it was absolutely not very good and I'm being nice. Hard pass, judges did pass thankfully.
11) Trent- says he never sang in front of anyone before, and his lack on inexperience does show, but he has a decent voice. I would say yes and the judges put him through.
12) Cal- This starts the Canadian segment of the show, From what I heard not very good I would pass, looks like they put them all through.
13) Sarah- The Canada portion continues, really not good again. I would pass.
14) Olivier- The best out of the three that isn't saying much, hit a lot of sour notes along the way. I would pass here as well, yet the judges put him through.
15) Will- singing a original song. His eyes made very strange movements when he was singing very distracting to say the least. The song was okay. Vocal wasn't perfect, but decent. Was on the fence leaning towards a yes, mostly on the fence because of the eye movement if I'm being honest. would probably give him another chance. so I would say yes I guess, and the judges put him through.
16) Yani- Sings the SNF song to CU who was sang by CU. I actually thought she was pretty good albeit it a little theatrical. I would put her through, judges put her through although not unanimous.
17) Clara- Singing a ID hit, not the type of song you would expect that genre of artist to sing to say the least. She has a very horse tone, and I wonder if her voice will hold up in the long run of a competition because of it, sometimes with a lot of singing these voices can give out a bit. Having said that I like her creativity with the song choice, and I think she did a decent job. So it is a yes for now for me, and the judges put her through.
18) Derek- singing a classic crooner song, he was flat as a pancake. Not my type of music that I like, having said that mostly when people do it today or try to, they are often flat or missing something in it. this guy was no exception. Pass for me and the judges did.
19) Santina- from what I heard I liked the girl's voice, although the instrument play could of been better. Yes for me, and the judges put her through.
20) Malik- from what I heard I also like him as well. He sounded good to me. I would put him through and yes the judges did.
21) Kyana- I thought she did a really good job, she was a no brainer yes for me, she can sing. The judges put her through.
22) Lillian- The Hula Hoop girl sang a weird song, perhaps the strangest vocal we heard this season. At some points I was wondering if she was taken this seriously when she was performing. I would pass and the judges did.
23) Samantha- singing the LAW hit, for the most part she did a very good job. easy yes for me and the judges put her through.
24) Canaan- it is obvious that he can flat out sing. easy no brainer yes for me. they decide to give him the 3rd platinum ticket, by far the best of the three platinum ticket holders although that isn't saying much compared to the first two who I thought were not great choices for those tickets to say the least.
Anyways last night was not the best show in my opinion as they put in a bunch of people that I thought weren't good enough through. Anyways this is my take of last night's show. Another show tonight as well, although now we are done with the auditions and off to Hollywood in my opinion.
great review, as usual. 2 shows next week.
My Take on Sunday's Show.
I watched it late last night. here are my thoughts.
1) Penny- The weird faces were a no for me alone, some of those faces were so distracting. her voice was slightly below average for me which is also a no. But they put her through, I would of been a hard pass.
2) Jamier-Singing one of my many favorite songs. The man loves his runs, normally I'm not a lover of that many runs in a song. But for some reason didn't mind it with him. Probably because he can flat out sing. No brainer yes for me, and the judges put him through.
3) Sophia- Singing a CU song to CU. Singing on the piano, had some key/pitch issues, had a few decent moments too, but the control issues would of lead be to a no. Then we see them beat up a truck. They put her through, I personally wouldn't but my no would of been very soft, unlike penny it would of been much louder.
4) Mattie- The 15 year girl, not sure I love her tone, which is a problem. On a positive note she knows how too sing, and has good power, but the tone for me will always hold her back. Having said that good enough for now so a yes for me, and the judges put her through.
5) Calen- from what I heard, I didn't like it. Judges didn't put him through.
6) Phoebe- The yodel exercise from what I heard I didn't like, but than again if you yodel I'm probably not gonna like it. Judges didn't put her through.
7) John-The male country singer. Liked his tone, nice voice, started off with not the rangiest of song though. They asked him to sing a second song, and I thought he was solid (Not perfect) there as well. Like his potential. So would be a yes for me, judges eventually put him through.
8) Nina-She was singing a original song about her brother. Her voice was solid, maybe not perfect but solid, song was just okay. would put her through at this point, and the judges put her through.
9) Desmond- He can flat out sing, one of the best audition we have heard so far this season. That is not an easy song to sing and he was excellent at it. No brainer yes, in my opinion that is the type of singer that a platinum ticket should be given too, not the two people they gave it too the last couple of weeks in my opinion.
10) Jamal- Another solid audition. he can flat out sing. A no brainer yes at this point, and the judges put him through.
11) Caroline-singing a original song the voice wasn't great and the song was worse. hard pass for me and the judges also passed.
12) Drew- singing a original song, liked the original song, she is one emotional singer, and she can sing as well. A no brainer yes for me and the judges put her through.
13) Sam- Didn't love his tone, although he knows how to sing. I'm on the fence overall. And the judges put him through.
14) Mae Mae- 15 year old girl, clearly not ready at the very least. May have some potential in the long run, but not ready for the now. I would pass and the judges did.
15) Lola- didn't love that she sang with the family, that didn't seem fair also let her hide. when she sang alone (Thankfully), her voice was okay, nothing great, I was on the fence, they put her through.
16) Freddie-sang an original song about his deceased father. I personally didn't like the vocal, and would pass, but they put him through.
Anyways that is my take on this past week's show. All is just my opinion of course.
my take on tonights show - march 23, 2025- …
…
- penny- imo, she purposely made dumb faces to copy that guy that used to do that before, who knows. but for ME its a no on the faces and a no on the voice but sadly, they put her through.
- jamier- another sob story, but so sweet and humble and yup, he had a great voice.
- sophia- on piano. sang “before he cheats” by c/u. nice version, appeared short of breath, timid, nervous, but sweet girl. i used to sing that song when i was more into going out to karaoke and everyone seemed to like it a lot. i sang it with the “anger” that the judges said they wanted from this girl. so, i recorded my version and sent it to my hubby’s mom but i forgot just how harsh the song is and how religious she is…. she loved the singing but hated the words. I kicked myself going “why would you ever play that song for her, you know better” lol. anyway, they get her out in the “field” to beat up a truck with a baseball bat while she sings it again, and puts her though, but they all took turns bashing the truck and wow, it was pretty violent really and not good timing for Tesla haters.. whats the chance of that? wow. if you know what im talking about, sigh.
- mattie- LOVED it. and had a beautiful vibrato too.
on a side note, Idol is to tamed down a lot lately, compared to many years of painful and embarrassing judges and horrible singers getting through. so, this is really refreshing. its “back to normal” again.
- john- super confident. very good but the guitar was a bit out of key. awkward performance but i loved it.
- nina- i wanted to like her song but i didnt love it, but im ok with them putting her though.
- desmond- on piano. he was very good.
- jamal- very nice and grounded guy, but too churchy and over the top for me, but he was good.
- caroline - NOPE!
- drew- sang with real passion. voice is good but not amazing, just good.
- sam- paralyzed from the waste down from a car acc. which should NOT matter, but you know…. sang well, just awkward all around but was good.
- mae mae- i thought it was a boy but its a girl. she would never ever survive hollywood week, etc.. she was ok but im glad they didnt put her through as my worry is that she may kill herself if put in that situation so they did the right thing.
- lola- nice girl. wilson phillips daughter - they all sang together (not fair to the other contestants) but it was great harmony. i didnt like her voice much and it was even worse when they asked her to sing alone, but you know the drill. under pressure by famous singers, you know where this goes, lol. on a side note, many mornings, for some reason, for years now, i have woken up with that song in my head that they sang. so, it was kind of ironic, lol
- freddie- another sob story, dad was murdered. the judges put him through over emotions but his singing was not good at all. sorry.
next week is two nights. sun is the last auditions and then monday is hollywood week. get your pen ready to jot a lot of notes down.
ok. soooo, i just watched it and…
…
first off, may i just say that i love Carrie as a judge! finally, three honest and classy judges, no more freaky judges, rolling around on the floor, clothes falling off, etc.. lol
also, i jot my hand written notes down, as i watch, before the judges give their opinion so that i am not “skewed” in my opinion.
here we goooo….
- Ms Landry- good job, super confident.
- victor- he modulated (for those that dont know, its going up a key or so) like three times, wow, but was just ok.
- Isaih- ok voice, not great, hard to make out the words.
- Ms. Grayson - good yet odd for me, but oddly good.
- brajawn - he had that odd dialect that all the kids sing with, for years now, but a nice voice. if he would just not sing like “olive oil” would sing on popeye, haha. but i liked his attitude.
- Kase- 14 years old, yes he can grow, but i liked it a lot. he should have gone through.
- Ms. Mikaela - loved it, both with and without her dad but with her dad was so amazing… ok, soooo, i cried. and im not a cryer. lol.
- bryson- too twangy for me… and… he is copying the style of a man from Va, (not too far from me).. he sounds just like the man that became very well known for a political song he sang. not sure if you heard this song.. he is hard to look at but he rose to fame very fast for this song.. go back and play bryson’s song and tell me he didnt copy his styel to the T.
wow, so, I have…….
…
not yet watched it, but read every drop here.
so, they passed someone that cant sing and gave the special ticket? thats just dumb.
I cant even pronounce these names anymore.. what happen to “john, joan, bill, etc” lol.
about the guy with the falsetto, i used to be able to do it no problem but in the last 2 years, i cant do it anymore, its just gone. im sad about that.
and it sounds like a sappy sad story still gets you through, lol.
i will try and watch it tomorrow, but too tired today.. i put this little video together, recorded parts from my ipad, edited it, added some music and stuff, here ya go,, so, this is why i was busy.
click on the pic to play the video, have your volume on.
My Take on Sunday's Show
Now officially caught up, and I will say this I found this week better than the previous overall.
1) Landry- Sings a CU song to CU, seen that last week as well with a singer doing that. She was very good, and she also made it a little her own. No brainer Yes for me, and the judges put her through.
2) Victor- Sang in my opinion the best LR song to LR. The guy playing the piano while he was singing might of set back piano playing a 100 year in my opinion. A little over the top in parts, but overall he can sing. I would put him through and the judges did.
3) Isaiah- first got the story of the Grandparents took him in, with the mom's struggles and all. Okay Vocal and Okay song, on the fence at best. Leaning towards a no, but the judges put him through.
4) Grayson- sings a song that was a duet between two female powerhouse singers in DL and CA. Sounds a little bit like CA in parts. Can flat out sing, one of the best vocals I have heard so far in the contest. No brainer yes for me and the judges put her through.
5) Brajawn- The postal worker is up next. Normally I like big powerful voices, and this guy isn't that. But there is something about the way he sings that is pretty good, a combo of a vibe with his voice. can't really explain it but do like it. Yes for me and although not unanimous by the judges they do put him through.
6) Kase- a 14 year old singer, clearly he came in too early as his voice seems to be maturing wouldn't surprise me if he came back a couple of years later and was actually good. He just isn't ready yet. I would pass and the judges did the same.
7) Mikaela- Singing a WH song, on a positive note she has an very good voice, on a negative note zero connection to the song. Still more than good enough to go through at this point but for some reason CU says no, and considering some of the people she has said yes to. Than the dad comes in she sings with her dad and she was much better connecting in my opinion, it will be interesting if she can learn to do that without her dad. I would obviously put her through at this point, judges did originally not unanimous, than CU said she would give her a yes after hearing the second song.
8) Bryson- Next up was the kid with the sister with the rare condition. It was just an okay song, with maybe a slightly above average vocal. On the fence leaning towards a yes and the judges put him through.
9) Carson- Singing a TS song and that is one of many favorite songs. Have to say I didn't have the highest expectations going in. But overall I thought he sang very well, and should go through. The judges put him through.
10) MKY- sang a SR classic Not perfect but does have a pretty good falsetto. I have my concerns about his non falsetto voice. But hard to tell on that because 90% of that song is sung in falsetto so can't say for certain. Good enough at this point. The judges put him through.
11) Josh- sang a classic that was played a gazillion times on talent shows. The good news is the piano playing was solid, the bad news is he made the piano playing the star, when he should be selling his voice. His voice was good, the arrangement and his style were not very good. He has some bad habits in my opinion that I'm not sure if he will be able to break. I would be a yes because I would give him one more chance to sink/swim worth a shot with the good voice, and solid piano play, now whether he can get out of those bad habits. Time will tell. we will find out in the next round in my opinion. Judges put him through although not unanimous.
12) Sophie- Singing a original song and hard pass on her vocal as I'm not even sure I would call that singing. As for the song, there is part of me that wants to say take it seriously or have a little class, there is another part of me that just wanted to crack up hearing the gazillion things she wanted to tell off with that classic line.
13) Lashion- Let me first start by saying might be the character of AI in 2025. That was perhaps the strangest vocal, style and song (which apparently was original) we will probably see this year. for me she grew on me and I liked it. probably not for everyone though I do admit that. But I would give her a yes and the judges did.
14) Filo- Singing a classic song, had a combo of way too many runs, a bunch of key and pitch issues, with a combo of yelling, and by definition is was all over the place. for me it was a hard pass, the judges disagree to giving him a standing ovation and eventually a platinum ticket. I go back hear it again thinking maybe I was too hard on him, but it was actually worse the 2nd time I listened. Don't get him getting a ticket let alone a platinum one, but to each their own I guess.
Anyways that is my take on week 2. All is just my opinion, and I could always be wrong though.
yup, they put them ….
….
through so that they have someone to kick off easily, later. i do believe that.
The worst of all was the women who wouldn't face the judges and wear sunglasses, why bother, you a performer nobody was to see you hide it is kind of in the job description to actually face an audience I couldn't believe they put her through. Her singing wasn't great and I heard worse they actually put through vocally that night (Believe it or not), but what she did in my opinion was far worse than a bad vocal in my opinion. In my opinion that should never get a yes.
i got a giggle when you said….
….
“give himself whiplash”. haha.
and yes, i was shocked at some of the garbage they put through like “the turn around lady”. lol.
i have not seen the 2nd one yet either, but will soon.
Update on 1rst Show
Got to the 1rst show yesterday. here's my review.
1) Kolbi- A gospel singer, a strange combo of having a deep voice in parts with the added benefit of some pitch problems. A little all over the place for me. I hear some talent, but way too man runs for me and in the wrong places as well. I have a low bar this round, but for me I'm on the fence. Judges put her through. More on her later.
2) Breanna- Sings a CU song to CU I guess. She can flat out sing. She did a really good job. No brainer for me and the judges agreed here as well.
3) Cruise- I don't love his tone or his style or the way he sings of this 17 year old country singer. Granted the song didn't help either. Pass for me, But the judges put him through.
4) Isaiah- Sang a DH classic, wasn't perfect, with every run a few too many for me. Was on the fence but leaning towards a yes. Because he did have some good moments too. Judges put him through.
5) Kamron- Not my favorite song, but from what I heard I liked this country singer. Actually don't know if he went through, but based on the commentary I think he did. I would of put him through.
6) Insite- The heavy metal hard rock guy who wants to give himself whiplash. This can't be good for AI, that is not singing that is screaming there is a difference in my opinion. I would be a hard pass, but they put him through.
7) Baylee- Son of BB singer, heck bringing me back to my high school/early college days with that one. Singing a original song, not sure what type of a singer he is, but he can sing, probably could even be better with a better song. Maybe it was just me but he didn't seem like the happy type.
8) Lilly- Sang a BI song, it was just a majority yes here, but they put her through. Once again, another not so good vocal, I would pass but they put her through.
9) Shane- Another Majority yes, his voice was too scratchy for me, and I would of passed but they put him through.
10) Pat- Singing a original song, let just complete this the song/style/ and vocal were a complete mess. I would be a hard pass but the judges put him through.
11) Che- The guy from England he can flat out sing, so no brainer for me. And Judges put him through. Would be a better with a better song in my opinion
12) Gabby- She can sing, not a perfect vocal, than again a AF hit like that is no easy chore. At this point she showed more than enough to go through for me. Judges put her through.
13) Ian- Singing a classic 80's one of my many favorite songs. A little theatrical, but can sing would go through for me, judges put him through.
14)Abby- singing a BR Song, forget the vocal for a second which wasn't great. She literally sang with her back to the judges with her sunglasses on. I don't get it. That is not an AI in my opinion. Hard Hard pass for me, to be a effective singer you have to be able to face an audience, clearly she couldn't. But judges inexplicably put her through.
15) Kolbi- Back to Kolbi again, they surprise her with the platinum ticket which to be fair I was unsure she should get a ticket let alone a platinum one. we will see.
16) Slater Sings and original song, about his teachers deceased kid. And the song was obviously emotional, but it wasn't great. His vocal was above average/good, but far from great. would put him through at this point because he showed enough vocally for me.
Anyways that is my take of show 1 will get to show 2 sometime this week. plan is to be caught up before show 3. All is just my opinion, and I could always be wrong though.
update, i just watched the….
…
first show of the season/2025….
im only posted some of the singers, not all.. so, here ya go…..
I thought it was a nice intro, for Carrie Underwood, as she is joining as a judge. finally the “panel” is legit and not crazy or weird or out of control.
- Kolbi- too over the top with the runs,
- breanna- it was good but she looked very unhappy. not fun to watch.
- crews (yes, thats his name) .. pretty good, very nervous, but a very fun song. then it got super fun when luke joined in. (he sang “they call me the fireman”)
- a head banger guy, i forgot the name, but he does head banger stuff, just awful, but i cracked up when sweet little carrie was rocking to it and got up to dance and sing along to it. sadly, they put them through so that they can have someone to kick off later. i cracked up when Lionel said “I dont know how we fit you into disney night” lol!!!
- Baylee- the son of one of the “back street boys” sings a dumb sappy song but his voice is very good. they cave under the pressure and put him through, which was fine by me in this case.
- Gabby- not great, kind of weak, but they put her through.
- abi- she sang awful, turned around to avoid seeing anyone, yet, they put here through, lol
- ok, so, at the end was Slater—- sappy but good enough, but how can you say no after he made a song from a grieving mom’s poem about her dead son. he was her student. he wrote the song from her poem. she was so proud of him getting through as if it was her own son. it was a win for her, him and his actual family. I cried over that one and i dont cry easy.
here is the link for anyone that cares to hear it.
hi there my “idol” friend, i just noticed………..
….
that idol is on again as its on my dvr!
i have not watched yet, but am about to. have you seen it yet or do you still watch?
its aways fun catching up with you about this show.
hoping to hear back from you soon.
gail
i was surprised it was in fact the…
…
finale’. i was thinking one goes and next week is the biggy. anway….
round 1-
will - smiled oddly during a song that is not “smileable’ and it was just average for me
jack- boring song and he didnt bring his usual energy to it.
abi- another sappy song (thats all she does) but she sang better than the guys, so, it was good.
round 2-
homecoming is always fun to watch..
will- sang “my town” and did good, but not amazing.
jack- great song choice,, but he went full-on funny mode, lol. it was ok but just “meh” for me
abi- sang west side story’s “a time for us” or whatever that song is called. i love that song and she did really well on it. i chill bumped the moment she started. it wasnt perfect but it was very good.
she won, and cried way too much and yes, on her knees crying when time was ticking, was way over the top. she is the best singer but some happy songs would be nice so that the young girls (and girly boys now days) dont kill themselves listening to her songs (and i mean that). you gotta be an AMERICAN idol and be someone to look up to, not to cry along with.
well, im going to miss you, as always, but until next year, God willing, lets do this again ok?
i enjoy this and look forward to it, thx to you.
My take on last night's show
I didn't post it, because I thought you might not want the results. But seems like you wanted my write up so here goes.
Round 1
1) Will- I thought it was a good song choice for him. Sang very well. And No KP he didn't sound like the artist, but he did sound very good nonetheless. Grade B+
2) Jack- Didn't love it. Hit some sour notes along the way. Paled in comp to the original. Just barely Average and I'm being nice. Grade C
3) Abi- Not my favorite song. Pitchey in parts. This clearly wasn't her best. Just average for me. Grade C
Round 2
1) Will- I thought this was another good song choice for him. He sang it very well. Very good performance. Grade B+
2) Jack- he didn't sound very good and I'm being nice. His tone sounded terrible on this song. Below Average. Grade D+
3) Abi- Had one little moment where she went off. Other than that it was brilliant. Have to take a little off for the small vocal imperfection. But still very good. Grade B+
They eliminate one. I thought it should be Jack. And it turned out to be Jack.
Round 3
1) Will- I thought his vocal was very good although the song was a little boring. But overall good is how I would rate it. Grade B
2) Abi- There was not much too that song. To say the audience was a little over the top with her was an understatement. Keep in Mind I thought she should win all along, but even I found the reaction so over the top. As for the performance and song, it was okay and or average. Grade C
Since this is cumalative eventhough will easily won the night, I still had Abi winning overall. America and clearly the audience agreed with me. Anyways that is my take. All is just my opinion of course.
im about to watch but…..
…
im used to you chiming in first.. i assume it taped last night, will watch now and post soon.
my take……..
….
round 1-
- abi- i see what you are saying about confetti in the mouth but she handled it well, but i didnt care for the song.
- triston- it was ok but just “meh” and he was so much better earlier in the show
- emmy- horrible as usual
- jack- it was good but boring. have you noticed no more dried spit in his lips lately? sorry, but someone has to say it to him and i think someone did so they either have him drinking more water or something.. i think he will win this. he has more talent over all, than the others, with moving around, engaging the audience, etc.
- will- odd song and not a good job on this one.
round 2-
- emmy- horrible again.
- triston- his poem to his mom got me sappy… he sang a hard song to do and it was NOT good.
- abi- rough start and just meh later on.
- jack- kids wont understand this old song but it was really good.
- will- he told his mom “you ain’t losing me, just sharing me” wow, what a great line! this was his type of song but it was just “meh” for me.
- you said emmy and triston go, so i cut the show off before that part.
i dont think the finale is next week, dont they kick off one and then the 2 compete last?
I think they changed that a few years ago. This upcoming sunday is the season finale. Hope this helps.
wow, i cant wait to……..
…
watch it tonight and comment but yes, i never understood confetti any time on this show.. poor abi, lol.
and wow, im thrilled to hear whiny crybaby emmy is gone. super sweet girl but she is NOT her grandmother and thats all that carried her along so far. sweet girl but thats all and she needs mental help. she is very depressed.
i think jack will when, but im happy with all 3 for now.
i dont think the finale is next week, dont they kick off one and then the 2 compete last?
My Take on the show last night.
Round 1
1) Abi- I thought she did an excellent job on that song. The vocal range was great, with excellent control. On a side note I don't know what genius had confetti falling down while she was singing, and letting it get in her mouth, what did they expect was gonna happen you have to open your mouth to sing. Excellent performance. Grade A
2) Triston- Can't say I loved this performance. It was a combo of draggy and nasally. Just barely average and I'm being nice. Grade C
3) Emmy In my opinion this song is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too big for her, before I heard her sing it. And as we know I'm not her biggest fan. But she was far better than I thought she would be. Still pales in comp to the original. But slightly above average which for her is actually good. Grade C+
4) Jack- His performance was over the top for me. Didn't love the song for him, and the vocal was decent, but have seen much better the last several weeks. Grade C+
5) Will- I didn't love the song choice as I found it boring. Vocal was decent. Slightly Above Average. Grade C+
Round 2
1) Emmy- As we know not the strongest voice, wasn't terrible, heard her worse. Just average for me. Grade C
2) Triston- Lack of clarity when he is singing is not a plus on this one. Got like every 4th word at times. Can't say I like the vocal either. Slightly below average. Grade C-
3) Abi- Good Performance and Good Vocal. Not a perfect vocal, but still good. Grade B
4) Jack- A strange song/performance to say the least. Overall I liked it and thought it was good. Grade B
5) Will- I thought it was good. Not a perfect vocal, but I liked the song choice for him, and still think he did a good job. Grade B
My Two Cuts
Emmy
Triston
The Actual Two Cuts
Emmy- She should of been gone weeks ago, as her voice wasn't strong/good enough in my opinion.
Triston- I never been as high on him, but the last several weeks he has been getting worse. He is getting a combo of more nasally and less clear when singing, both of which are not a plus.
Obviously I agree with the choices. My Favorite for the last several weeks has emerged is Abi and it is not even close at this point. Tight for 2nd at this point for me. Anyways Abi, Will, and Jack will compete as the final 3. Next week I believe is the finale. We will see what happens. Anyways my take on last night's episode. All is just my opinion of course.
uh oh, guess what……
….
i just noticed, on youtube, as i have marked the “American idol” page, it shows the number of views for each act and sadly, emmy and then abi got the most and then jack is 3rd and the rest dont have as many views. that tells me that emmy may win even though she cant sing, but abi i nearly tied.
lets see if that give us an idea how this all plays out.
here’s my take on sunday's show….
…
and i see there are no more monday shows, just sunday until the 2 week finale it appears.
round 1, ding ding…
- jack- he may just take the whole thing. i thought triston, will or mckennah would but it just may be jack. now, having said that, they keep emmy in for who her g/ma was and for that reason, as you say, popularity, yet she cant sing well, will she win? nice girl, horrible singer.
- julia- you hated it and i agree, it was horrible
- abi- i didnt like it
- mckennah- she was good but her virus, over the 3 weeks, really took her down along with her boring sappy songs.
- will- great song choice! but he didnt dance like the lady asked him to, lol
- emmy- you hated it and i agree, it was horrible
- triston- agreed, it was not good and he was gasping for air with just a little movement. he will be super overweight when he gets older, so, he may be done. he was one of my favs too.
round 2- ding ding ding…
- mckennah- boring, like you said, and too sappy, so, that was her doom.
- will- bad song choice, worst song for me, from him, so far
- julia- boring, not good
- emmy- horrible and she always looks so nervous- she should have gone before mckennah
- triston- this was not his “wheel house” and it was awful.
- abi - you loved it but i am so tired of sappy poor me songs but it was just ok for me.
im sad about how its going nearing the end.. i was hoping for much better talent but having said that, they have to learn tons of songs that are not even sung on camera yet, so, lets keep that in mind.
at this point, its a crap shoot but if emmy wins, i will not be happy.
