here is my take on tonight's show......

and its a carry underwood and a mother's day theme night...
omg, has it really been 13 years since carry won? i recall that very day, just like all the other winners, but 13 years?????? wowza!
micheal- never liked his singing but always like him as a person. he had the energy but the song was awful.
gabby- lots of high pitched screaming...
cade- even Carrie was smitten with him, lol. He literally rocked her country song. i was impressed although he looks too happy when he should have some facial attitude in some of these songs.
caleb- nervous sounding but ok. Judge Katy actually gave a good critique for once. she had the Cher look going on and was calm. she must be reading the social media notes about her. lol.
maddie (my aka for her now is patsy cline).. OMG FANTASTIC!! she really has that 1920's to 1940's look and is so beautiful along with her voice. it was a bit rushed but my fav of the night
Round two... ding ding ding....
mother's day stuff... and i loved all of it... (i sure miss my late mom, sigh)
gabbie- loved her sweet letter to her mom. she did a whitney houston song and knocked it out of the park. not a fan of hers but this was HER best by far all season. (and i think is what kept her in the finally, spoiler alert, lol)
Cade- omg, i cried when he cried, talking to his mom and when she read his letter. YES, its about music and not mushy stuff or stories, but hey, its mother's day, lol... i loved his song and again, loved that most of them are doing older music! a little more umph would have been good, but it was very good.
michael... ok, so his letter to his mom was sweet but i hated his song as i have all of his songs.
on a side note, lionel's mom looks way younger than him, ever since he got that awful face lift. sigh.
caleb- loves his letter to his mom and the humor about him living in her basement if things dont work out, lol!! anyway, wow, this country song fit him perfectly! it was a little boring but really good.
maddie (and mom) awwwww! loved that part... ok, so, about her song.. it was odd but very good. and a very old song at that! she went back to looking kind of dead in the eyes, but amazing just the same!

gladly michael is gone but sadly, cabe is also gone.
I am out of town next weekend to see my dad after many years, but i plan to try and watch the show next sunday night and post here, soon after.
